Why don't you buy her a nice necklace or ring if you know her size. Buy a nice box or gift bag that the item will fit into. Cut 12 strands of different pretty coloured cotton threads to about 45cm. Tie one end of threads around the gift. Cut a hole in the shape of an x into the top of the box or side of the bag making sure length of the cuts are equal. Score across base of cuts and fold back so you have a neat opening. Tie the other end of threads together and pull through opening leaving about 7cm dangling. Your wife will then have to pull on the threads to discover her anniversary present. Hope you understand that? Happy Anniversary!

We have just celebrated our second wedding anniversary. My husband made me breakfast in bed, he bought two cotton napkins and placed them on the tray with a red rose. Inside my napkin was a pair of earings.

Don't be too tied down by the silly "rules". Forget cotton....get silk, team it with champagne and your undivided attention and look forward to all the anniversaries to come...to Ruby and beyond.
Good luck to you both!
