Yes a person can self vaccinate, however it really isn't recommended to do so for many reasons
1) no guarantee on how the vaccine has been handled, stored or mixed or even where it came from
2) might not be administered correctly
3) if dog/puppy has adverse reaction to vaccine you won't have a vet available to help you out
4) no way for an owner to know for sure if dog/puppy is really healthy enough to be vaccinated
5) may be giving more combinations of vaccine then needed or recommended

it sounds like this is an only dog and maybe a fairly new pet owner so I would opt to take the dog to a vet instead of self vaccinate. We self vaccinate using the DPv for our pups and adults. But this is after years of learning and owning dogs that I started giving self vaccinations. You can only give the yearly vaccinations that are in any single to combination of several shots in one. But each shot has its own risks which is why for a new owner or one with only a dog or two it isn;t cost effective to do self vaccinations as there are risks from the injection site, to the shot not being shipped or stored properly.

Plus NO ONE can give RABIES vaccinations due to it being transmitable to humans this the vet has to give

I wouldn't self vaccinate a dog unless I was a vet!

i am going to school to become a vet tech. and i have never heard of vaccinating your own animal. the vet practices have special meds they use on puppies and you have to keep up on them because you dont want your pet to catch anything. esp. parvo. parvo is a very serious matter in puppies they can contract it anywhere an infected dog has been.some breeds are easier to contract it than others. so its very important to take your puppy to the vet and have it fully examined and for it to have its shots.
