Most do not. The Bible does not say, "Thou shalt believe in a young earth." The fact is, no verse in the Bible makes any claims as to the age of the earth. All the so-called verses that young earth proponents point to can be interpreted by the reader to mean old or young. Also, the key doctrines of the Bible are not affected by either interpretation.

This is my understanding -
How do we know that the creative days of Genesis are not 24-hour days? Because all six of those days are called one day, at Genesis 2:4: “This is a history of the heavens and the earth in the time [six days] of their being created, in the day [one day] that God made earth and heaven.” Also, the seventh day of the creative week was God’s rest day, or sabbath, from earthly creating, which the Bible indicates is still continuing.—Heb. 4:3-11.
The six days of creation marked periods when certain work was accomplished. The Hebrew word “yohm,” translated “day,” allows for these long time periods

2 Peter 3:8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day
I think this points to the fact that according to the Bible, earth is older because the creation was looked at through the eyes of God.

Just the Christians that actually believe the Bible. The one's who accept evolution have decided God must not have known what He was talking about when He inspired the Bible. I think those Christians have taken the first step to not believing. The first step on the road to Hell.

I believe that the earth is millions of OUR years old. How long is a day where God is? It boils down to accepting Jesus. Everything else is man made.
This is my humble opinion. You are free to choose to accept it or don't. In the end, all I have done is answer your question. I will now take my two points and go and answer another question. Thank you.

The majority of Christians do not believe in Young Earth Creationism. It is a very rare doctrine, even in Christian circles.

It is just the lunatic fringe made up of Christian Extremists. The vast majority of Christians have no trouble with evolution. Half the world's Christians are Catholic -- and even the last pope said "Evolution is much mor ethan mere theory."

Not all Christians do, there are many of us that know the world is millions of years old, only the religious insane cannot see past the church doors, and in my catholic church we still have a few.

in honesty....as a Christian....my thot is....who cares?!?!?
the point of Christianity is to look forward to the future.....we use the past like the story of creation to help us understand about ourselves and God but we shouldnt dwell on how old the earth was or anything coz thats distracting from the min point of the Bible
