In the countryside, near where I live, the farmer has put huge polythene tarpaulins round the edge of the fields, where are there are trees. All the fallen leaves have landed on the polythene. Why would anyone do this???

No Tattie - it's definitely something to do with the leaves. It's only round the edge and where there are trees. The rest of the field is uncovered and it's just grass anyway. Thanks for your answer though.

Maybe it is not to do with the leaves, it just looks that way.
Could he have planted something under the polythene that needs protected from the weather?
