Because in their Church one needs to believe the additional Mormon teaching over the Holy Bible. So? They choose the Inspiration of the Mormon book over the Inspiration of the Holy Bible.

Aren't we suppose to be born again by the Holy Spirit of the Holy Bible. Through the Jesus Christ of the Holy Bible & through the Father God of Jesus.

Since the Holy Spirit that Jesus Christ promised is given through faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, there is no salvation provided when one loves the Mormon Jesus over Jesus Christ of the New Testament.

So? How can a person find salvation in a Mormon Church?

I think they can if they choose to love the Holy Bible Jesus over the Mormon book Jesus. But they have to seek God in prayer in their prayer closet.

Sunnyann, If you were born from above, of His Spirit & cleansed by His blood, you would have received the Holy Spirit of Truth who leads into all truth. The Holy Spirit of Truth will show those born of God the error of the Mormon Book. When I was filled with the Holy Spirit & healed from a 1yr breakdown, the first thing the Holy Spirit led me to do when I got home was sit on my bed & stare in the closet. I pulled out a book & dropped it & the Spirit led me to toss it out. Then to another book that had a verse in it that said that the Spirit I received would lead me into all truth.... The book the Spirit led me to toss was the Mormon book. So? The Mormon book had a part to play in my breakdown since it was an idol in my life at that time. That was the 1st night I slept soundly all night for a whole year. The beginning of nights of sleep.

A person cannot be a good mormon and a Christian at the same time. They are incompatible. Just because a poster below me mentioned the JW's let me add that one cannot be a JW and a Christian at the same time either. Mormons and JW's are both cults.

2Thessalonians 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Mormons are Christians and believe salvation is found through Jesus Christ and not through a Mormon Church. Mormons believe in the same Christ that other christians do too.

Yes. I am a Mormon, and I am saved. Read my full testimony at www.mormonconverts.com. It's the one which is titled "It was as though scales fell from my eyes."

We do not believe the Book of Mormon over the Bible. We use both, and we accept both as Holy Scripture. They do not contradict each other; they teach the same gospel. The Book of Mormon is another Testament of Jesus Christ. It includes scriptures such as Mosiah 3:18 which says "men drink damnation to their own souls except they humble themselves and become as little children, and believe that salvation was, and is, and is to come, in and through the atoning blood of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent."

Where does it say that we must be born again of "the Holy Spirit of the Holy Bible"? Can't other people write about Christ and be inspired by the spirit? Yes, we too believe that in order to be saved we must have faith in Christ, repent of our sins, turn to him and follow him throughout our lives. Naturally the way we take these steps is through prayer.

This "prayer closet" idea is a funny evangelical buzz-term. I'm British so my house doesn't have closets, it has wardrobes, and I don't fit into them. Does this mean, since I can't seek God in prayer in a prayer closet, that I can't be a Christian? Because I don't know of any British homes which have closets. Oh no! No wonder only 5% of Brits ever go to church! Our architecture is directly related to our salvation!

As to preferring the Mormon Jesus over the New Testament Jesus, I wasn't aware that there were two. Anyway, the Jesus through whom I have salvation, and with whom I have a living relationship, is the one who was born of a virgin in Bethlehem, and died on the cross of calvary for my sins. If you, as a non-Mormon, have another Jesus, you are welcome to him.

He died for your sins too, you know. That includes the sin of assuming that thirteen million faithful people are liars, or that you have more right than God to delcare who is and isn't saved. When you pass judgement on me and my fellow saints, you crucify Him anew. I love Him, so I would beg of you not to do this.

Your assumptions regarding our beliefs are not correct. A person finds salvation in our Church through the atonement of Jesus Christ.

Unfortunately, many people would try to lead you and others to believe that we are a mysterious cult with non-biblical teachings. This is simply not true.

You will not learn the truth by listening to others spread falsehoods about us, however well intentioned they may be.

Visit our sunday services one day to see for yourself; check out the church's website and read what we really believe www.lds.org; or contact me if you have any other concerns.

In Revelation 22:18, 19, it says/“I am bearing witness to everyone that hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone makes an addition to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this scroll; and if anyone takes anything away from the words of the scroll of this prophecy, God will take his portion away from the trees of life and out of the holy city, things which are written about in this scroll. You said that one needs to believe the additional Mormon teachings to become a Mormon and that is bad. If you get involved with the Mormons you’re doing it in vain. They did exactly what God told them not to do; they added information to the bible. John 17:3 says this means EVERLASTINSG life, their taking in knowledge of YOU, the only true God, and of the one whom you SENT forth, Jesus Christ. You stated since the Holy Spirit that Jesus Christ promised is given through faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, there is no salvation provided when one loves the Mormon Jesus over Jesus Christ of the New Testament. Your right, there is only one Son and his name is Jesus Christ and this means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of Jehovah, the only true God, and of the one whom Jehovah sent forth Jesus Christ. If you want more information, go to www.watchtower.org. The living God has a name psalms 83:18 says that people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah; you alone are the Most High over all the earth. If you keep searching sincerely you will find the right way. I hope you will go and look at the web site because it will give you good information and it will help you on your search for the truth.

So, basically, what you're saying is, if we don't recognize YOUR truth as Bible truth, then we don't have any truth?

Truth is, the Bible was the first book that converted me to the LDS church. They are the most biblical church.

There is no such thing as a "Mormon Jesus" over a "Bible Jesus".

I'm mormon. we do believe you have to be born again by water and of the holy ghost. we firmly believe that in order to be saved, it's only through jesus christ. we firmly believe in the christ taught in the old and new testament. we believe it's through the teachings of the bible that we can return to our father in heaven.

The Jesus Christ in the Bible and in the Book of Mormon are the same one. The Book of Mormon is the record of the people who lived in the Americas during Biblical times. Mormons believe in both books and therefore they study both fairly equally. The Mormon or LDS people do not really pray in closets, that is simply an expression meaning that we do not need to broadcast every pray we make. Mormons are Christians.

I believe that, in the final judgment, Jesus will "save" those whose hearts are "right" whether their belief system is or not.

Sigh.

If you're a Mormon, I suppose you believe that salvation is to be found in Mormonism. If you're a Southern Baptist, you believe that's where salvation lies. If you're a Catholic...you get my drift.

Personally, I don't see much to choose between irrational belief-systems. Why don't you worry about your own salvation, and leave other people to worry about theirs?
