hi there,

I need someone to spend about 5-10 hours on the internet to compile some information for me but I don't know where to look for student who could do this job.

Do you have any recommended website/forum where I could post this message?

And what is the hourly rate for a student to do some market research on the web?

You could contact a local college or university.

Also, there is a site called Elance that is an excellent way for you to find exactly the right person to do this for you.

Elance brings together professional providers and people like yourself who want to hire them on a per-project basis.

Like Ebay, each person can leave feedback on the other party in a transaction. Also, the professionals who freelance there provide examples of previous work so that you can determine their level of expertise from the quality of their work.

Finally, also like ebay, the professionals bid on your project. However, the one who bids the lowest doesn't automatically win the job. You get to select who you want.

I use Elance all the time and have been very impressed by the quality of people I've found there.

Good luck!
