i need help with Microsoft word 2003?

Every time i open word, there is a gray grid int eh background. It doesn't get in the way of anything but its really annoying. Its just a gray grid that i cant do anything with. Do you guys know what it is and how to get rid of it.

Click the Drawing button on the Standard toolbar
on the bottom of the screen, you will get the Drawing toolbar
click the Draw button
click Grid
click, to clear, any checkmark in "display gridlines on screen"

What kind of gray grid, in the top,bottom, or on the sides. You can remove headers & footers by going to Page Setup.
