First, $30,000 is not a lot of money. It is a very modest salary for a college graduate. Second, if you plan on an education that will earn you a lot of money you may not be happy, unless you also like the work you will be doing. But if you want money, plan on studying law or brain surgery. They pay well.

When you finish high school and go to college, you will have to take some general education courses that will give you some idea of what areas interest you. Then you will be able to choose a major that will lead to a happy life.

Many schools can administer tests that tell you what profession may be most suitable for you given your interest and skills. These are not tests that you pass or fail, they are simply an inventory of what may fit you best, based on your answers to a variety of questions.

Stay in school - otherwise, you will be sentenced to a life of meaningless jobs performing manual labor, flipping hamburgers, or cleaning the houses of people who stayed in school and were able to progress in their careers. No one will promote, or hire a person who did not at least complete highschool for any type of meaningful or interesting job. You will be cleaning floors at the midnight shift at Burger King.

Sounds like you might be good for a sales job - get some business courses as a background so you don't end up selling cellphones or car stereos...

Although $$ always is a part of adult life ,
Trying to choose college or a career based on it is often fatal .
Many people are so bad at the jobs they went into because of reports of 'a lot of $$' , that they end up sucking at the job and NOT making $$$ .

And FYI - I know lots of Non-college people who make over $65 thousand a year .

Go into classes that fit YOUR aptitudes & skills .
