My hair for the past 5 years has been jet black, and I've been trying to let it grow out and not recolor it because I'm trying to get rid of the black, I haven't colored it in a few months so it's been fading over time, is there a non expensive way to get rid of the black so I can color it to something else?

The best advice one can give you is to go to a hair dresser they will know what to do to help you, it's worth the money, and you will not blame yourself if you do not like it, but going to a hair desser is what I did I had redish hair color is the hardest to get rid of, and has to be done in steps to bring it up to the level of color you want.

My hair is jet black too and i wanted to lighten it up i went to a hairdresser and she said the only way is to put a few highlights in your hair, because when you have black hair you can't go to a lighter color it just won't show up, i had the highlights for a while but i didn't want highlights i just wanted to lighten my hair up so i dyed my hair back to black and i used a certain shampoo to take some of it out and it workedd so i have a light brownish color its called perle hope it works!

Not really. The best thing for you to do would go to a beauty shop as what they would have to do is get the black out and then color it what you want. You may try this yourself but when you do you may not like the results in the color.

I would recommend seeing a hairdresser, as they are trained and professional they should be able to come up with a solution. If you go on about with any home remedies, you may end up with a shade of color you didn't want, a big chance especially because its been colored already.

Go to a salon. Unlike most people they have actually gone to school to learn about hair. Tell them what you want to do and they can do it with the least amount of damage to your hair. Good luck.
