Generally, hard-line Christians are very narrow minded and cannot, or will not listen to others point of views. Its their way or no way, despite everyone having different opinions on what y believe in. Just ignore them.

He's right.
He was asking for Religious guidance and the non-religious threw in their 2 cents.
He didn't say I'm stuck between BELEIVEING AND NOT BELIEVING.
Then your 2 cents is appropriate.
Why don't ATHEISTS understand their own GUILT in BASHING
At least be honest
If you can't be honest WHY should ANYONE even give you the time of day!
Admit you're bashing
Let's get down to brass tacks
PETA wants to take the steak and hamburger out of your mouth
They do have a point, BEEF EATING will give you heart disease
But there IS NO PROOF being a VEGAN is healthier.
You let PETA get away with things and you'll live on lettuce and french fries.
Your coat will be only COTTON and POLYESTER
Now, you let the BUDDHISTS have their way and you only coat will be POLYESTER
Go read the PETA manifesto and then read the Secret Life of Plants and you'll die of starvation.
You can't eat polyester
Let's get down to brass tacks. Athiests make up 6% of the Earth and Believers in something higher make up 85%
Do you want us to declare you outlaws and have you executed.
It would be very easy to exterminate Atheists.
Not so easy the others.
Don't push. Christians and Muslims are totally againt you and that is 60% of the world.
Don't push your luck or we'll come after you in full force.
There are 10 of us to every one of you. Don't push, don't shove, be cool.
Muslims already have. There is a implicit FATWAH on Atheists, espcecially former Muslim Atheists.
They kill Atheists in Iran all the time.
You open your mouth there, you don't survive the Moral Police.

First of all, this is hypocrisy. You're allowed to do it, but a Christian isn't? Smells like a hypocrite to me. Second, is this section not called Religion and Spirituality? If you don't like reading it, then go elsewhere. It's really quite mature that you posted this, yet you yourself were angered by the other person so called "assaulting atheists". Isn't that childish? Not only that, but why do you think it's okay for you to do it, but not a Christian? Your title says it all. You have grouped together an entire religion, so not only are you a hypocrite, but you are also stereotyper. You've shown your true colors to not only Christians, but to atheists as well. There are people from both sides, the Christian side and the atheist side, that are rude, uncaring, and annoying, but that does not mean that just because of someones religion they are all the same. Are you just like other atheists? Then why is generalizing okay for you? It's not okay for anyone to say such a thing, regardless of religion, ethnic background, sexual preference, etc.

Firstly the poor man tried to ask a question about churches, he was I think, asking for advice. He was not inviting people to ridicule his faith, which is what happened.
I agree that this is not a Christian only space and we are all invited to share our views.
I believe in God but I have an open mind and will listen to any views.........I value other peoples opinions and if I dont agree then I keep it to myself. It is not my job to convince others, if someone asks a genuine question and I feel that I can help then I will. I have noticed that if someone has a strong belief system no matter what it is they seem to think that WE all should listen to their opinion.
My motto is if you cannot answer a question in good faith then why bother trying to upset others...............
This is not an assult to others just a plea for good common
sense or manners.

You know, everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, and you calling that group out like this isn't making you look any more mature. Just because something doesn't jive with how you think (this is going out to some of you Christians too), that doesn't make it "ignorance and arrogance".
A lot of those people throwing out the attacks are just looking for a rise out of someone, and it's a vicious cycle. One group attacks, the other retaliates, which leads group A to attack again, causing group B to fight back. Just ignore it.

So Adam, your answer to that is War?
Could the problem be that perhaps there are agents in yahoo Q/As trying to protect their interests of materialism. Or there are childish people in.
I don't think of any other explanation for unbelievers to come into useless and unintellectual debates about religion if they hold no belief of the same.
A man is with or against a cause. But the unbeliever whether is there to listen and make private convictions, or is not there at all because he does not believe.

Hard to say exactly. Some may be motivated to save, others to share personal beliefs, others may simply want to learn and understand a differing viewpoint. The reasons are as various as the number of Christians and people who answer the questions as well as ask the questions.

LOL...could ya be more specific?
I'm sorry, Christians, but the fact is that you NEED to be somewhat ignorant of history - perhaps willfully so - in order to accept the Christian legend as historical fact; and of course Christian theology is irrational and fantastic and repugnant to common sense - but then, that goes for ALL theology.
The arrogance, meanwhile, is a side-effect of believing that you are one of the "saved," and that everybody who disagrees with your particular interpretation of your particular brand of Christianity is damned to hell.
Am I generalizing? Look, I don't mean to say that all "Christians" are vicious and stupid - far from it. Most of my friends are (nominally) Christian, and I love and respect them, and they are (otherwise) intelligent and rational people. They simply "suspend disbelief" when it comes to religion - indeed, that's pretty much the definition of "faith." And I DON'T respect that.

I agree that some Christians here are repugnant, but they are not all like that. I've seen some very reasoned, thoughtful answers from Christians that I've given the thumbs-up. I really don't like generalizations.
