Close friend of Jerry Falwell; senior pastor at Thorington Road Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama for 15 years; graduate of Liberty University; vociferous opponent of the abomination of homosexuality, etc etc. You know where this is going.

He was found dead in June of "accidental mechanical asphyxia." He was hogtied, wearing two complete wetsuits, including mask and flippers, rubber underwear, and had a condom-wrapped "marital aid" lodged in his rectum.

Is anybody surprised anymore when "conservative" "Christian" "Republican" "morals and values" types turn out to be complete and total FREAKS?

Not that I'm judging! More power to him if he gets off on dressing up like Jacques Cousteau. At least he died doing what he loves! But of course, this is the guy who spent his life preaching that nice decent gay boys like myself are sicko perverts who will burn in hell forever. I assume he probably never mentioned the hogtying and the wetsuits to his congregation.

Sorry, but to some extent, I found that humorous, because I'd not yet heard of it. I'm sheltered. Lol.

I'm no longer surprised. I've witnessed, been aware of, and in some cases, even amused by, some of the most perverted, repulsive, and amazingly horrifying things. I have a morbid, twisted sense of humor, and it never fails me.

In the book, The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell, many of the most twisted and perverted things I've ever heard of, occurred. Because of my experience in reading that book, this does not surprise me. However, I must say--a bit of a reminder of the hypocritical idiocy of today's society.

I think that part of it, is conforming. His career at standing at society would be severely jeapardized, if he were to be open about his...ehm...fettish. Lol. Therefore, he was forced to hide it--a clear example, of how being sexual likes/dislikes, are not choices.

If they were, would this man have done such things? Hell no. It's not a choice to like something, or to be gay, straight, or bisexual.

Therefore, people are, in a way, forced to excercize hypocrisy. Either that, or they must ignore their own needs and feelings, unless of course they were willing to give up their lives thus far, in order to be open about themselves.

As for burning in Hell, if in fact you end up there, you won't be the only one. It's not like they'd ever let me into Heaven. I'm an atheist AND a hateful, sinful, bisexual. I listen to the Evil Rock Music, and I say "omg" in text messages.

Yep, I'm going to Hell, too. They d*mn well better have good cookies.

EDIT: The Poor Widow has been the first person today, that has made me wish to go outside, stand under the stars, and scream at the sky. I want someone to blame, for the existence of people such as herself, that feel someone would fake this instance.

Good going, lady.

EDIT 2: As for the pun, D*MN. Thanks for putting that in my mind. Lol.

EDIT 3: Lightening--if you're implying that he deserved to die, maybe you're suited to the same fate, eh?

DEWD! Lightening, you need a reality check.

"serves the bastard right.....
edit.....yay its me.......get out from being so far up your own ****...if that is my opinion i'm entitled to it.....who the hell are you to comment on other peoples answers piss off you moron and go rabbit on to someone who gives a ****"

WHAT.

THE.

HELL.

I just answered to a different question:
"it is the OBJECTIVE of religion
to keep the general population in fear of the vastly unknown kingdom within them
and dependent upon others - mainly The Religious Leaders!

that know well about the awesome potential of the human that actually develops the subconscious into the conscious
most of those ...(Preachers)... already know and utilize limited amounts of psychic 'magic and ritual' but are way too lazy and busy with the power ego trip to actually become what they are trying so hard to prevent others from becoming

this is big business actively advertising and programing the fear that is the misinformation product that sustains and enriches them"

Your question is just another 'Proof'
that they are all "do as I say not as I do"
it is a mandatory factor of their business
and they have gotten so into it that they have lost
any view of reality of the inner human

I too think the example you gave is high comedy
enough of these I hope will eventually show 'religion'
as the 'clothes-less emperor' that it really is
and be what causes religion to come crashing down in a spectacular cascade that is way too long overdue

It's very sad and satisfying at the same time when something like this happens. It's sad that in this "Man's World", many men want to be part of a good-ole-boy's-club and find commonality in what they can hate, as opposed to being happy and being themselves. This cowardly man had to hide a part of himself because he openly attacked people based on a learned bigotry. He grew up feeling ashamed of an urge he carried and distanced himself from his true self by condemning those who felt the very same way. He is a sad and pitiful man in death; just as he was in life.

Ah, but it's also *SO* very satisfying as well. It further destablizes the agenda and foundation of the LGBT community's greatest enemy and shows mainstream America that homosexuality is not only everywhere, but it shows that "sexual deviants" can turn up where you least expect them.

When I read this post I smiled. I smiled because there is one less dirtbag attacking my community. However, in feeling this comfort over this man's death have we in fact achieved a victory? Or has my response and those alike from others that stem from our mistreatment by homophobic individuals in fact proven defeat?

People should not celebrate the demise of others -- we have an empty victory.

Wow what a way to go.

There comes a point where christians will no longer be able to treat these cases as mere annoying embarrassments. These are symptoms of a sickness that, while surely unpleasant to deal with, must be addressed to avoid irreversible damage to the whole body.

Scandals have been arising frequently for years. Isolated instances can't repeat over and over, right?

Edit: The Poor Widow above me is actually implying that homosexuals murdered this guy and set-up the whole thing. Lady, that's low.

They do this for the publicity to anger people towards a group of people they find as an easy target to get peoples blood to boil and become opinionated by targeting these people with a psycosexual image of sexual perversion and the spread of a viral death. We did have a outspoken narrow minded bigot here in Australia Fred Nile with his band of loon's called the Festival Of Light. They would target all the Gay and Lesbian umbrella event's until the anti discrimination laws came in. It's against the law in Australia to discriminate against a persons religion and beliefs, color, race, sexual preference or physical or mentally challenged disability. So now we don't have these outspoken religious zealots in any religion preaching racist homophobic religious discrimination to people in our country.

Just because a man or a woman wears the cloth, they do not always represent God. There have been many that hide behind the cloth, and are not of the Lord's teachings. I don't have anything to say about this person. He has to answer to God.

The hypocrisy is amazing. We thought it was especially so, when Ted Haggard was exposed (particularly, after his condemnation of gays in the movie, "Jesus Camp"), but this latest revelation about Rev. Aldridge tops that.

I never heard of the guy, but your description raises a couple of questions in my mind.
Accidental mechanical asphyxia? So, how, exactly, does that work?
Hogtied? Seriously, how does a person "hogtie" himself...even the most avid fetish freak would need some help with that one!
I can see how a homosexual would seriously want to believe that this guy died while having freakish fun all alone...but I have to wonder...

The real irony of it is, he had a fetish but had been brainwashed into thinking it was perverted and went to extremes to deride it, yet he could not control his impulses to act out on it. If he'd just been able to be honest with himself and have some self-esteem, he could have been living happily, accepting who he was, and, yes, acting out on his fetish. We all have them, some of us are able to act on them and realize it's just part of who we are. Others hate themselves for it and find ways to punish themselves even though they can't stop doing it.
