EMP would do it... but nothing short of it. TV is like religion.

You bring up a good point.
Not everyone cheats. I don't.
People who use tv to determine their morality are not to chosey where they look. If you feel a show is a bad influence, turn it off, write the show, and let them know. Write the sponsors and let them know you are not going to watch that show, and get others to join you. That is the way to change tv.
People will watch what they want to watch. However, the people who sponsor and produce the shows are the ones who have to determine what people may watch. The networks care about what makes money. So hit them in the purse if you want a show to be taken off the air.
That is why I do not watch Chef Ramsey's show. I don't like how he abuses the staff.

Judging by most of the answers I got to a question I asked a few days ago, many people are not watching much TV news anymore. People do seem to be waking up to the fact that it is, in fact, fake.
As far as regular TV programs, the amounts of money the actors make are absolutely ridiculous. Well, I could say the same is true of the phenomenal salaries that sports players make these days.

Td, only very few people watch TV here in Australia like they do in America. I might watch TV once or twice a month if something worth watching is on. I find TV as an anti social medium to break boredom. No wonder why 87% of Americans are obese and believe everything on TV is real. I find playing team sport and social contact real.

False TV morality already HAS gone away for those of us who don't cheat, earn more than a living looking pretty on camera, and who are honest with ourselves and others even to the extent of admitting what is wrong with ourselves.

It's not just 'morality' it's consumerism, dumbing down, substandard education etc.
I love watching nature documentaries and some movies, I really feel that they increase my knowledge of the world. But TV shows in general are just like fast food culture. Worthless tripe, with too much money.

Probably never. Most people will judge based on appearance, and the mindset nowadays is that "beautiful" people are "better" than others. Looks are everything. Those of us who can see beyond that live much fuller, richer lives and don't waste much time on TV at all, because we see how fake and plastic all the people are.

Well, television can produce what it feels will sell . It is up to the consumer to turn it off or switch the channel if they don't like what they see.
I've woken up - I only watch about 2 hrs of televisions a week - sometimes not even that much.

TV will become obsolete when technology reaches the point of doubling intelligence levels. Of course, then TV will change to be more intellectual, but the sex content won't go down.
