According to religion, one may not worship anyone aside "God."
But that implies that GOOD people will be subjected to eternal pain, torture, and punishment, simply because they don't pray to an imaginary man in the sky.
I simply see know reason that any good "god" would do that to his own creations.
I know this point's been made already. Don't bother telling me.
But, I think you all need a reminder.
No "god" would think in such a way, or do such a thing.

Ha. Study religion more?
I grew up in a family of strong Christians. No matter how tired, ill, or just uninterested I was, through my childhood, I attended church EVERY Sunday. My parents also mandated that I attend all Sunday classes, youth projects, and confirmation classes.
I read about religion for three hours a day. I've read the Bible; I know the text.
Trust me, I know enough about the beliefs.

Earl--actually, if the activity in question were safe, legal, and would not harm my child or others, I would most likely have no problem with it, if he informed me that another child was allowed to do so. In fact, that would give me more confidence in allowing my child to do something.
Don't presume you know me, when you don't. My parenting style is not like any other you've come across; I guarantee that.

Then, perhaps, that is man's interpretation of what they "think" God was trying to say.
I agree with you, no "all loving" God would do this.
God must have another plan. It says in the Bible: "it is not God's will that any should perish."
If this is true, he must have another plan to prevent us from perishing. He couldn't just expect everyone to "buy" the same story.

I don't believe God allows or sends people to hell for an eternity at all. A merciful, just and benevolent God will not do such a thing. Not to say that people may not be punished in some way for wrong doing in the hereafter, but I think God isn't so insecure that people would go to hell for not believing in God.

Why would the Christians listen to you? These are the top 5 reasons Yahoo! Answers sucks for this kind of stuff.
1)You cannnot respond in real time.
2)Haveing a debate is worthless, because you can't respond once you have asked a question.
3)If you do manage to engage someone in an email debate, it will get very boring waiting for the reply and you will sink out of your debate "high".
4)Most people on here are snide and rude, not all, but alot, so there aren't many people to get into an email debate with.
5)People come here because Yahoo and SBC global are huge. They generate more veiws than a lone chatroom because they are a business.
I have the link to a website that you can create a chatroom and forum on, if you guys like the idea, email me and if we get enough emails, I'll start it and we can respond in real time with a chatroom + forums.

I tend to disagree with your statement that follows:
"But that implies that GOOD people Willl be subjected to eternal pain, torture, and punishment, simply because they don't pray to an imaginary man in the sky."
There are some believers who feel that hell will be eternity without God. That wil be the only measure of suffering.
God does not want us to suffer unless we are truly evil. God made us because he wants people whom he made in His image, to become strong enough to join with Him in eternity. In other words, God would like our company.
By the way, I saw you mention that you are also a worshiper of a form of satanism, correct? Does it not follow if you believe in Satan that there is God too? And then it follows that if there is Satan and God, then why would anyone follow Satan to Hell? Better to be safe and follow God, how could it hurt?
I will offer a prayer for you. may God bless you and heal your wounds.

these words are not from God, but from mankind, you don't know who God is nor what he desires; you don't find God in the bible or in the church; but in a quite peaceful place you will find him.you will find God when you are happy, i think that all what God wants is people to be happy with each other and live in harmony; and why should it be so difficult for you to just believe in him and once and a while also think of the one that created you. Do you like it when nowone cares for you while you did that much for them? God gave you life and all he wants in return is that you love him in return, But God himself never said that you will be put eternally in hell if you don't believe him right? I'm just trying to say here that you don't have to believe everything that the bible says or the church, because these things aren't God.

It's not God that puts us in Hell, it's ourselves. We're the ones that sin and disobey. There is no such thing as a GOOD person, maybe in human standards, but not in reality.
So many people think it's a "right" to go to heaven. It isn't. It's the house of God.

I see, so YOUR word means nothing at home with your children and husband and they can follow rules of other people and other parents.
I better NEVER hear you be cross with your kid because they say JOHNNY'S PARENTS LET HIM DO THAT!
You better ACCEPT the FACT that you kids follow JOHNNY'S PARENTS over YOU
Get the idea now.

Your argument is based on the false notion that God is a man in the sky. If that were correct, you would be correct.
God is the essence of life and is everywhere that life is. Therefore, any worship of others, be they animals, plants, or people, is worship of God.

According to the Bible, he demanded you kill animals because he liked the smell of burning guts. He also demanded human sacrifice from time to time. Why wouldn't he be so fickle as to throw his 'children' into hell for not praying?
