You can get appendicitis at any age but it's unlikely that your three year old has this as he/she would be dead by now. Stomach ache for a few days does not indicate an ulcer either. If anything, it is likely to be bacterial (stomach bug). As you stae "off and on", that is an indicator that as the child is clearing the bug, he/she is getting reinfected. To break the cycle, you must make sure that the child washes his/her hands thoroughly after going to the toilet and after playing outside. Also make the child wash his / her hands both before and after eating. Also, make sure the child washes his/her hands immediately after stroking any animlas. Better still, stop the child from any contact with animals until he/she is better. You should find that strict cleanliness will soon have your child recovered. In the meantime, if you are really concerned, take the child to a doctor even if it is only to put your mind at rest as sometimes a stomach ache could be an indicator for something else, usually with other symptoms. Regardless of any outcome at the doctors, it is still wise to have the child washing his/her hands regular.

Dear Cassie_M,

In accordance with the symptoms which you have briefly described, it is unlikely that a 3 year old child will have a ulcer.
However, where Appendicitis is concerned, this condition can occur at any age and if this is suspected, the child should be seen by a Doctor, or taken to the nearest ER hospital.

Tell your parents. I had the exact same symptoms when I was around that age but it was because of my Diabetes. I have type one diabetes, more common at a younger age to find out but you might have it. Just talk to your parents or go to a doctor and get an appointment and a check up. Hope you do okay man
