If you were to ask that question of anyone, who would you ask, and why?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer! May God bless you.

I would ask "Where in the Bible does it say that God does not want everyone?"

I would ask it because it would bring up the question that many do not consider to be the truth, because it is the truth. Many of the elect are under the impression that God wants everyone. I believe it allows many Christians to believe error; therefore they go about undiscerning to the desires of God, who only wants a remnant from the Earth.

That's why Christians need to open up to the Lord better, making sure that they can see who it is that He wants, and only God can give that discernment.

I would ask my local Priest or Pastor, Minister.
Any one of these, or a nun. They would all know where and they should understand the reason.
The only problem is that you may get the same answer to where it is in the bible, but you might not get the same anser for what it means. Even though they have all read the same book their ideas and thoughts about God my differ so the final answers are not always the same.

*1 Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
*1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
I would ask anyone who says...the bible says it...we are to prove all things using scripture.
*2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

if i didn't look it up myself, or ask my pastor, i'd ask on R&S. honestly, if ''guru'' were a proper term for someone with extensive biblical knowledge, that's what i'd call some of the people on my contact list.

just in case you're asking so that you can find things on your own...

this one is great when you're looking for particular passages. you can type in a few key words into the search engine, and it will look up the verse(s) for you;

this one is great if you want to study by topic. the same thing applies- type your topic into the search engine, hit enter, and it will bring up articles on all different subjects. you wouldn't believe how much material these guys cover. it's basically like an online catechism, but from an interdenominational point of view;

I would call an elderly lady in our church. She knows the Bible so well. She can tell me right off the top of her head. She's done it many times.
Miss Kay is an angel.

Bless you as well, and thanks for asking!

If you are not familiar enough with the Bible to answer the question yourself, then why do you care what bits and pieces of the Bible say? Is that the same level of analysis you apply to other literary works?

...that preaching about hellfire and brimstone is the way to get converts. i have said soooo many times that if a christian would actually ACT like thier jesus said to act, even i might be convinced that christianity was a good thing. unfortunately most i meet and especially on answers are just rude or plain nutty. ghandi once said something along the lines of " i like your Christ, but i do not like your christians, they are not like thier christ."

I would study the word for myself and expect the Spirit of truth to reveal that truth to me...We must study the Bible ourselves and not totally rely on someone else.... Because the Holy Spirit will intervene and fellowship with us as we study and make clear to us all things..
