You cannot "take" your NY medicaid with you. It is only for services rendered in the issuing state. You can apply for Georgia medicaid once you have proof of residency. Here is the site:

HIP is only available in the NY-Metro area. Medicaid is individual to each state. Therefore, you'll need to reapply for medicaid benefits when you move.

Medicaid often accommodates you at different states. I've had an experience where a medicaid patient was severely hindered while on vacation outside his homestate, and the medicaid was transferred to the state he was receiving services at just for the period he was recovering for.

If you have a social service rep that set the plan up for you, talk to them. They may help you arrange the transfer. You'll have to choose a different carrier though.

No can do. Each state regulates it's own policies - you'll need to "rewrite" the policy in accordance to GA's laws - and a provider is NOT required to take you, just because they had you in another state.

Yes, you have to reapply and requalify.

i dont know state laws the best and easiest way would be to contact the insurance company and ask if it is transferrable to NY. Good Luck :)
