Ever since i was 5 years old i use to drink a lot of coke n sprite at least 2 or 3 times a day. Also sometimes i use to skip meal n eat chocolates. As a teen i started to eat lot of fast food and hated healthy foods such as vegetables, fish, whole grain. Now at the age of 20 i have realized that i have ADHD. What can i do to improve?

Adhd is not a myth and it has been shown that a poor diet produces poor behaviour. If you improve your diet and get rid of the junk and chemicals you will find you cope with the world far more easily
Buy fresh food and cook it yourself rather than ready meals with additives. Eat fruit and vegatables. Ditch the coke and other pop and drink fruit juice milk and water. Try to avoid sweets cakes and drinks with colourings in them.

One of the diagnostic criteria for ADHD is that you have to have had it since childhood. Some might say that there's a vitamin/nutrition connection, but if you have TRUE ADHD, then it's a neurological condition, and nobody can say for sure that it's from what you eat, etc. There are plenty of other reasons to try to eat a more balanced/healthy diet, but I doubt that most doctors would say that your eating habits caused this.

Now, drinking Coke (not so much Sprite) as a kid could be a possible sign that you were trying to self-medicate, as caffeine has a reverse effect on those who truly have ADHD.

It is never too late to start eating healthy. It has been scientifically demonstrated that vigorous exercise, for 30 minutes a day, is more effective at reducing the signs of ADHD than any prescribed medication. Start out slowly and work up to that level of exercise.

And no, it is not the lack of vitamins that cause ADHD though it could be aggravated by sugar and caffeine intake. Sugar comes not only from sweets, but from white bread, white rice, white potatoes. Did you know that there is more sugar in a white potato than a "sweet potato"????

Anyway, Google "glycemic index" to find a healthy, low sugar way to eat

Stop eating and drinking all that junk you've been shoving into yourself all your life. You've probably had ADHD all your life too. Processed food is full of additives and chemicals and probably causes ADHD. Eat fresh fruit and vegetables. Go to the butcher and buy meat and cook it yourself if you aren't a vegetarian. Give up the pre-packaged stuff and stop all those fizzy drinks. You'll be surprised how much better you feel. You may even turn out to be a completely different person.....how exciting.

ADHD is a myth.

You just don't have self-control.

You need to grow-up and act like an adult.
