I have been prescribed Cymbalta for my depression. I am also an aspiring writer. Before Cymbalta I would write but it was sporadic and half of the time I didn't feel like it. Now since taking it I feel more motivated to write and have more ideas. What causes this? Thanks

Cymbalta is designed to help your mind focus, the way that it does this is quite unique. It uses a sythetic chemical to block certain receptors in the brain. So buy doing this you mind is not thinking aobut non productive things or depressive things but things that will make you more happy. I too used to take this, But it was precribed to me for pain control, while it did have a small effect it wasn't enough to keep taking it, I did notice other changes while taking it and was quite amused at is possible uses thou.
So if this has helped you to becomed a better writer I would consider getting out as much as you can as fast as you can, the long term use of this medication has not yet been studied so it's hard to say that you may still have this feeling a year done the road once your body is used to taking it.
Good Luck.
