Jews believed in Moses(pbuh) because he did miracles and so did jesus (pbuh). What drew people to islam in ancient times?

Surely it was not the scientific evidence in the quran.

abal qasem, I am not asking for a book to be written here, just major points concisely.
If you wish to tell a non muslim so that at least to motivate them to read, what points would you give?

sorry but I have not gotten a single intelligent answer yet.

Leah, are you telling me that if a new religion is formed that will give people rights they did not have before, we should follow it?
Whereas islam may have given rights to woman that did not exist before, it has not given her equal rights to man. Like
inheritance is not a 50-50. She has no right to go out without covering her hair.
If a new religion comes and gives rights those rights, we should follow it?
Your argument is not strong.

thanx for telling me where islam city is
but in fact there is a city called Islam abad which is in Pakistan
lack of education, sorry sir, many educated pple went to islam after knowing it and reading it,some times they did that as a challenge for Islam and ended up that they revert to islam
no matter
entry to islam was absolutely dependant on the person himself, and how much he was able to judge if the quran was mans words or gods words, later the character of the true muslim, now adays back again to the words themselves of the quran and the hadeeth of course

Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) was a model of all that the Quran advised people to do. his companies, Al Sahaba, followed him in the new religion one after the other after being convinced of it. their families followed next.
the Prophet moved to Medina with the hope that he can convince more followers. he did. more and more followers believed in the Quran and the Sunna, ie, the words of the Prophet.
at the time of Moses, people were very simple, so God gave Him the ability to perform miracles . many were convinced and followed His religion.
the same phenomenon took place with Jesus. He performed many miracles such as raising the man from death, and curing another from leprosy.
at the time of Mohamed, the consciousness of the people was more developed. so, He undertook the tast of convincing people rather than perfoming miracles.
however, a miracle took place , bit He didnt perform it.when the people argued that He wasnt a prophet , the moon was split. everybody saw this miracle . those who were ready to believe in His message, did so. those who didnt want to believe, said that He was a wizard and played a trick on them.
the real miracle was that His followers increased dramatically all over the gulf and spread to far lands till it reached egypt , then north africa, then many other lands in the far east.
the Qyran is a miracle because it mentions things that became known after many decades and in unparalleled acuracy . its language is a miracle , nothing like it.
Mohamed was illiterate , so it was a miracle that He could remember all He heard from Gabriel and recited it to those who could write it and preserve it by doing so.

Initially it was because the first of islam went on raids to other towns and forced them to join. Any who refused were destroyed (killed). Later there was the more relaxed method of getting new converts but for many areas it was a forced religious conversion as the armies of islam expanded their control.

Islam also embraced knowledge from other religions and scientific scholars. They once had some of the largest libraries around taught that knowledge was good.

When the Muslims invaded spain though they again in many parts of the country went on a forced conversion to Islam.

Of course when the catholics conquered it back they did the same thing.

i think it was the Quran, not the miracles, but just the basics in it. and the hadeeth. like, Islam is the first and only religion who tells ppl how to spend ur life and make it useful. and the Quran is the best book ever written, b/c it was written by our Lord, the One and Only, Allah t'ala.

As with any and ALL religions the answer is,

LACK OF EDUCATION AND STUPIDITY.

The educated man knew that the best way to control others was to keep him in the dark, that way you could convince him that your solutions must be correct as people could not yet read and find out otherwise.

Even today, most religions are solid amongst the uneducated.

Do not confuse religion and faith, religion is man-made, faith is God-given.

History shows us that religion varies immensely, faith remains constant.
Religion kills, faith saves.
There are many religions, only one TRUE faith, GOD, Jehovah, Allah, (whatever) and faith does the same for all. Religion is confusing, made up by man's sinful will to impose their thoughts on others.

As is commonly said, KEEP THE FAITH.
