We're moving to NJ and we've been advised to consider Montclair (we're a small family). Anyone know the place?

Its a good area. I live 5 minutes (South) away from there in the next town. I do my banking there all the time and the bank I do business with was even visited by the "Mad Hatter."

You can visit http://www.montclairnjusa.org/ to read up on the township.

I am ex NJ and worked for the railroad.
This is a great town. Little to high on the property tax.
But you have a great downtown. Sense of community. Good rail transportation and also bus service to NYC>
It is a teriffic town. Good college. Close to the malls for shopping. Wonderful restaurants. The movie theater in downtown is off the hook.
Also it is the most racially diverse city in the USA> More mixed marriages there than anywhere so again it has embraced the fabric of the USA>
Enjoy your house.
