Should I go back there and tell him? Or leave it alone. I am confused as to what to do?

What? That is a huge violation, I think you should confront him, see what he says, and maybe report him. That is very wrong.

If you ask him and he says no, you have two choices. Believe him or not. If you believe him, it is going to make it uncomfortable to see him, because you will feel embarrassed for asking. If you don't believe him, you are in the same place you are now. If he says yes, you can get a new doctor. But if you are wrong and you really like this doctor, you lose. If you are not really sure of what you might have seen, I would keep the doctor, never leave my purse unattended and see where it goes from there. Maybe he has a compulsive disorder where he has to look if given the opportunity, like looking in a friends medicine cabinet's. Good Luck!

That is not okay for a doctor to do.

One important thing you need to do is always bring your purse with you. No matter where you are/where you go. Dont leave it somewhere (unless you're leaving it home in a safe place or something).

If your doctor was doing that, then hes not very trustworthy. I would want somebody that I trust taking care of me.

I would try to find another doctor. Ask close friends and family who they use. Reputation and word-of-mouth is usually better than just looking through the phone book.

If you feel its necessary, or if you want to, you could somehow report this. If you have the guts you can call and confront the doctor himself and let him know that you will no longer be using him due to his poor behavior. Perhaps if you dont feel comfortable speaking directly to him, you could call the office and just speak to the receptionist.

I'm not sure how you would go about reporting this. I suppose that you can call your local police department and ask them for advice on what to do. This is something that his other clients should know about.

((Snooping through somebodys purse is something that nobody should do. Not even family members - unless they have the OKAY. It is espically bad behavior for somebody else to do it. What was he going to do? steel from you? - it just doesnt seem right to me.))

**Only report it if you are 100% sure that its what he was doing. I would still switch doctors - just so that you can feel safe...but we dont want to ruin his reputation if your not 100% sure.

Does the doctor have reason to believe you are hiding something such as drugs or illegal substance? If he felt you were in danger he may do this.

If not, then Wow. What the heck? I woulda busted him out right then. I would have said, "Excuse me, did you go through my purse?" If he said No and I believed him I would have laughed it off as me having an off day. If I really didn't believe him (bizarre behavior or I actually saw him zipping it up, etc) I would have checked to make sure nothing was missing- informed him I wasn't paying for the visit as it was unprofessional and changed doctors.
I mean, really if no harm was done except violated privacy I would have been just really peeved. Not much you can do (or prove) so just changed docs.

You think you saw him? Not KNOW? So... I guess it's too late to react now anyway.

That has got to be the most bizarre thing to have happen! I think I would just find another doctor, or, if I really thought this particular doctor was doing a fine job, medically, I would just leave my purse at home or in the car when I had an appointment.

Go and visit him again and do the same as leaving your purse in that room and go to the bathroom again. This time leave a note at the top with the message "GET YOUR HANDS AND FACE OUT OF MY BAG YOU PERV, HAVE SOME RESPECT FOOOL!" in big bold letters, watch him and walk back in with a big smile and ask if anything is wrong? that should defiantly keep the snooper away from your bag and make him feel like a snoopy fool he is. Find yourself a new Doctor, there are many of them out there that I'm sure that won't violate your privacy not only as a patient but as a Human too.

You "think" or you actually saw your doc doing it? Be clear. If there is any doubt and lack of proof, leave it alone. Was anything missing from your purse? If not, all is well and forget about it. I still recommend that you find another doc as you'll always have that doubt in your mind. Good luck.

You should have taken your purse with you.

I would immediately check my purse and see if anything is missing. Ask the doctor "did you look in my purse?". Gauge your response from his reaction and what he says.

See a different doctor next visit.

To late now.

You said, "You (think) you saw him snooping", so you really can't prove that he did.

Now if you go back and say something, he's just going to deny it and make you look stupid.

You should have confronted him when you saw him doing it.

Find another doctor.

You said you 'think' you saw him doing this. Not absolutely, positively sure. I can't imagine what he would be looking for - spare change??

Perhaps he was just moving it from one place to another.

If you feel uncomfortable about him, see a new doctor.

If you can prove it that something is missing, I would pursue the situation with legal counsel. If not, consider it a lesson learned and find another doctor, regardless. Good luck.
