Stu beats them both. Seriously, Mike Tyson wins that one. Joe was just too easy to hit and Mike had the power. Look what Foreman did to Joe.

Just because Joe put Ali on his seat does not mean Joe was hard to hit. On the contrary he was all too easy to hit and Ali hit him hundreds of times in their three fights. He put Joe in the hospital after the first fight, almost KO ed him early in the second fight and Eddie Futch stopped the third fight at the end of the 14th round because Joe had taken so much damage Eddie was worried about Joe's health. But do not take my word for it watch the fights again and enjoy. Tyson would have hit Joe as well and stopped him.

I put frazier in my top favorite boxers of all time. His style and boxing skills were great and as far as heart goes he kills Tyson. However to be honest (and if I were putting money on the fight) I would take Tyson even though he doesnt rank in my top ten. In his prime Frazier would be tailor made for a knock out in the first couple rounds just look at what Foreman did to him. However if he could somehow keep from being knocked out say for 5 rounds Frazier would win for sure. I just dont know I think Tyson was probably the second hardest heavyweight I have ever seen and quick as hell. Sorry Joe.

Well, define prime.

If you are talking Mike Tyson between the ages of age 18-21 (cause after 23 he wasnt worth squat ever again), okay.

Fraziers prime is much harder to define. He had a belt, and his attention was gotten because of Ali...but he was getting some salt on him at that point.

I am not sure who said that Frazier was easy to hit, that just isnt true. The fastest hands in the heavyweights (Ali) got put on his rear trying to slow Frazier down.

As much as I like Frazier...I have to give a busier Mike the fight. Unfortunately Mike Tyson's weakness is the jab. All boxers that faced him that could jab reasonably humliated him. Fraziers money punches were hooks upstairs and downstairs...and going bodyblow for bodyblow with a young Mike Tyson wouldnt go well for Frazier. Tyson was nowhere near George Foremans strength..but his fighting style when he was young was to continually bang you till you fell.

Frazier would fall, nine rounds.

I would have to go with Tyson in his prime, but Joe Fraiser has an awkward defense style so I don't know. Tyson might grow frustrated from not hitting Joe as the rounds increased. Frazier had remarkable head movement, like Marciano. So Tyson would have to take Frazier out in the early rounds (1-5) and if Frazier could survive those rounds he is golden for a KO in the fight. We all know how Tyson would fight in the late rounds.

Tyson at 19 and 20 had all a 5' 10" fighter could develop with foot speed, style, hand speed, endurance and steroids. His strength and reflexes and array of powerful punches presented huge problems and Frazier just doesn't match up well with all that. Even hung over on lithium for his mental diagnosis after Givens and their marital problems and without any real legs under him he came one second away from knocking out Douglas. No, Frasier was a limited fighter that I never was really impressed by. He never fought guys who could really punch. When he beat up Quarry I was impressed. But Tyson should've cleaned his clock if both were in their prime. Too bad Tyson's prime was so short lived. Like Ali he lost something when he went to prison and Holyfield capitalized on it. Not sayin Tyson was of sound mind but Frazier wasn't strong enough to bully him around, not fast enough to avoid his shots, and I'd take Tyson by KO in round four or five.

Could go either way. If they fought 3 times I think Frazier would win two of them. If the fights last more than 4 rounds Frazier wins those fights because Tyson would get tired of getting hit. Tyson did not have the heart of a champion. Frazier did.

I would say Mike Tyson. He has great speed, immense power and fantastic agility. Mike Tyson was very good at knocking people out quickly. He has a great determination to win. Joe Frazier has great power but nothing else really, he gets sloppy once he is tired. Great matchup by the way

Most definitely Tyson. Tyson in his prime in my opinion was probably the most fearsome, devastating heavyweight ever. If he fought lennox or evander pre-robin givens/prison, he'd have won hands down.

Tyson and frazier are similar fighters, both use punching power, left hooks and pressure to defeat larger, taller opponents. However, think of tyson as a bigger, faster and much more menancing as well as skillful frazier. tyson had the uppercuts, fast combos and headmovement frazier lacked. frazier had more heart but i doubt that'll keep him standing as tyson would plow through him in no time. basically all the heavyweights who have beaten tyson were taller, boxing (stead of slugging) types.

anybody short and would have to fight tyson on the inside would get dominated and destroyed. the tyson approach for other fighters was to box him and get away for the first few rounds...in order to frustrate him and tire him out. then later pick him apart. no one dares trade wif iron mike toe to toe head on in his prime, or even afterwards.

However, joe frazier's style only works cuz hes up close and swarming. if u rly kno boxing, the power slugger always beats the inside fighter, not to mention a prime tyson was an unrivaled power/inside fighter hybrid.

Tyson wins by ko 1-3 rounds. imagine a george foreman on frazier, but faster and landing more devastating punches within secs.

ALSO as a side note

Tyson vs Ali: most ppl would disagree but I'd say Tyson hands down. After all, Tyson would kill joe frazier but frazier is the man who gave Ali his hardest fights ever. Ali has problems with swarming, short pressure power fighters, as he cannot get his distance and rhythm. On top of that ali has no 1punch ko power so he cant stop tyson's onslaught...all that endurance and dancing around will be no good if u get ktfo early on, forget 15 rounders. this wont last 5.

LASTLY, ppl have to realize that in any sport, athletes get much better and bigger/physically powerful as the years go on. u cant rly compare someone with another athlete out of his time. joe frazier and ali prollie couldnt even beat the current soviet heavyweights today, due to nutrition/improvements in training science, etc.

ps. i know what im talking about. I box out of joe frazier's gym in north philadelphia lollll. even his son agrees, no way he could beat tyson. (btw his son marvis frazier got ktfo by tyson too, in 20sec...using the style his dad taught him)

Mike Tyson in 3 rounds.Frazier had a good left hook but Tyson had the same power in both hands, as for Foreman, Tyson would have been too fast for him and got under his punches every time(in his prime).

Good fight!v I got to go with Iron Mike because even though Frazier was tough and delivered hard punches, Tyson striked with authority. and added speed with a huge boost of confidence.
