They sell a form of chapstick. It is their religion to try and get others to use it, so they go door to door selling it.

Jehovah's Witnesses are people like you and me, the only difference is that they go by the bible in their every day life.
This is what I know: If the whole world were JW there won't be wars because they do not go to war, you would sleep with your doors and windows open because they are honest people, parents would spend more time with their kids, Hotels won't exist because they have friends all over the world even if they have never seen them, there won't be any jails, and you won't be cussed at when you make a mistake on the road (-: About their beliefs the best thing is to ask them directly when they come to your door, they are the only ones that can answer you correctly, I did, and have your bible with you because they prove everything they say with the bible.

Jehovah's Witnesses—Who Are They? What Do They Believe?
Who Are They?
They are
interested in you
IT IS the desire of Jehovah's Witnesses that you become better acquainted with them. You may have met them as neighbors and fellow employees or in other daily affairs of life. You may have seen them on the street, offering their magazines to passersby. Or you may have spoken briefly with them at your door.
Actually, Jehovah's Witnesses are interested in you and your welfare. They want to be your friends and to tell you more about themselves, their beliefs, their organization, and how they feel about people and the world in which all of us live. To accomplish this, they have prepared this brochure for you.

They believe in the bible.
Jehovah is God, Jesus is his son, Holy Spirit is God's Active Force, not another person
Satan has questioned God's right to rule when he told Eve that God lied to her and he had said that man could rule themselves, and so now he must be proven wrong by us.
Only 144,000 go to Heaven and they rule as Kings and Priests next to Jesus (who is reigning as king right now under God). Also, that not just anybody can be one of these people.
That we are near the end of this System of things and that Armageddon is near and after Armageddon, all of the people who had died will be ressurected and given a chance to serve God and if they do, they will live forever in a paradise on earth. Also all the faithful ones living now will live forever in a paradise on earth
That they must always live according to the bible, in all ways of life and they must follow in Jesus' footsteps as closely as possible with the way he was towards others and his faith towards God
There is no Hell, Hedes is the grave and when the man dies, the soul dies, and so we are not consious of anything when we are dead.
That when we die, we are in God's memory and when it comes time to ressurect us, he will remember us and recreate us how we were and we will then begin to obtain perfection through time if we are faithful to him.
They preach because that's what Jesus did and that's what he instructed us to do when he devided up his disciples in two's and told them to preach in the cities and towns.
There are many many more things, but these are the main ones.
I know it can be frustrating, but they truly have good hearts and don't mean to bother you. They keep coming back because your circumstances may change and you may need help to learn the bible in order to be happy and they want to be there for you when you need help. Also, they want to make sure they don't miss anybody who may have just moved in or who may be very depressed and in need of some hope.
I can't tell you how many times I've read that because of them going door to door, how many lives they have saved literally. There are so many people out there just wanting to know the truth and they usually find the answer in the Jehovah's Witness religeon.
Also, they are not a sect.

Hello, I am a Christian, one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
I can give you kind of a bare bones idea of what we believe.
First, we believe in God, and in trying to serve him. To this end we strive to follow the Bible, including the mandate by Jesus to All Christians to offer to share Bible teachings with others.
If when you say, Always at the door, you mean your door, then your best bet would be to ask the ones at your door, Bible in hand, any questions you have. That way you know it is coming from a Witness.
If that isn't desirable you could also go to our website, http://www.watchtower.org.
We believe in, as most people do, being good people, kind to others, etc.

What do JWs believe?
Ah, let me count the ways.
Man was made to live forever on earth in paradise conditions.
We don't go to heaven.
The soul is not immortal.
There is no fiery torment in hell.
Hell is the grave.
The trinity is a lie.
Mankind is near the moment when God will intervene in man's afffairs and restore paradise on earth.
AND they can show that all that is indeed mentioned in the Bible.
Plus, most JWs have a good sense of humor .....no reason to fear them.

You've had some good answers from JWs listing what they believe. It's what they DON'T believe that should worry you.
Don't get me wrong. They're lovely people and utterly sincere, plus they spend huge amounts of time studying their Watchtower Society literature and going to meetings, so when they knock on your door they appear thoroughly grounded in the Bible. Up to a point they are. Unfortunately, their grounding is in the interpretation of the Bible given to them by their leaders, including insistence that door-knocking is THE way to spread their gospel. This elite, tiny group of men brook no disagreement with their doctrine and instructions, saying loyalty to them determines whether anyone will survive Armageddon or not. That's kind of blasphemous, if you think about it. As JWs refuse to think about it, please feel free to email me if you want more info.

From what I have read, it is hard to get a straight answer regarding JW's on yahoo answers. There are too many biased opinions, both for and against. Honestly, I was raised and baptized as a JW, but left in my 20's. I could tell you everything about what they believe. Some things I agree with, some things I don't. Try going to these sites...
www.watchtower.org
www.wikipedia.org. I felt the information contained on wikipedia was accurate and unbiased. It contains some facts you ARE NOT going to get from the watchtower or a member.

Jehovah's Witnesses are relatively unique among self-described Christians in that they understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom by Christ Jesus is a real government which will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire
While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]
Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind
