Seeing that the USA is no longer a colony pretty much proves we have already beaten the British Army once, and that was without using any technology...

It would be a war fought in the air and at sea , there would be no ground combat as both countries are separated by the atlantic ocean.
The U.S. Navy and Air Force are larger than the Royal Navy and the RAF but the British Military would still cause a great deal of damage to the Americans.
Both the United Kingdom and the United States have nuclear weapons although they would probably not be used on a large scale or would only be used for tactical use.
The RAF would have air superiority over the UK and would be able to shoot down American strategic bombers.
In the end America would probably beat the UK but it wouldnt be a quick and easy war.

I think in terms of training and technology, they are pretty equal.
The Challenger 2 and the Abrams are pretty well equal in terms of strength and offensive capability with each having pros and cons over the other.
If they were to fight a war against each other right now? I'd say the US. The British army simply doesn't have the numbers that the US army does and as mentioned, the US would be better equiped logistically.
It wouldn't be an easy fight, though. The Brits would give the Americans a run for their money!!

Since the fall of the Soviet Union, and the basic gutting of UK forces by John Major and the liberals. Great Britain unfortunately is hardly in any position to project its power anywhere in the world. Its a shame really.

I don't see cause to compare. When it comes to defense of our countries and engaging the enemies of democracy we fight together as one. That means we work as one army with assets available for both. Together we rock.
