Man evolving from bacteria is a 3.7 billion year simplication. lol
You could say God created the first prokaryote. I mean there's a lot of theories behind how life originated. Remember it's called creation, that implies something was created and it doesn't mean that that creation couldn't evolve.

You cannot. The basis of religion is, as in all cultures over time, derived from a basic concept and passel along in writing or by spoken word. There are so many ways that explain how the earth, universe and people came to be that you would need to book to explain them all. Remember that christians are not the only people who have concepts about how all this came to be. However, they and muslims are the only ones who fight over who is right. the point is, absolutel science is the correct version. the rest is faith. If you want to beleive in a "Hogher Oiwer" that is OK. Remember that when the bible, and other "Truthful texts" were written, man had no real science or understanding of origins and answers for natural phenomina. That is the purpose of religion - to explain the unknown. As our civilization grew older and advanced we found that the thing that were explained by religion were not the results of a god or some mysterious power but a natural effect that could be explained AND DEMONSTRATED. That is the difference between scienc and religion. Science will give a repeatable proof. Religion will keep hammering at the same myths without proof or even substantiation.
People claim that the bible is the word of god. Muslims claim the same thing and so do jews. Everyone insists they are right, they have the answers and it all lies in the boble. But there is no absolute repeatable proof. Believe what you want but the Grans Canyon is more than 1,000,000 years old, not 6000 as would be indicated by the bible. You may believe in a god - that is your choice. But you also have to accept the proofs of science rather than the myths of the bible.
By the way, for those who say the bible speaks the truth and is the word of some unporven god, the bible says it is OK to sell your daughter and a bad son should be stoned. You see that christians only take the parts of the bible that suit them. they do not separate meat from other foods on two plates and god said they must. and they eat fish that god said they must not. read the ENTIRE bible and you will be shocked at the contradictions therein. It is enough to make you believe in real science.

Evolution is the way things are, creationism is mythological mindf**k. To try to believe in both is unbalanced. One thing God wants us to learn/know while we're here is to discern truth. God is truth, Satan the father of lies. You cannot know the truth if it is peppered with lies, or in the case of the Bible, polite fiction. 99% of the Bible is fact, but keep that radar out, 'cause Satan has tampered and is always looking for ways to thwart God's plan. Hundreds of years ago, while the Bible was being compiled, the majority of the chuch-going population was unschooled, and the folks in a position to teach weren't too much better off. Lots of room for Satan's chicanery. Well-meaning people became dupes to: "let's tell about how God made the world, even though we don't have a clue" and the rest is history. Noah's ark? Hooey. Their purpose was to teach of God and his might, well and good. It's time for the Holy Scriptures to meet the 21st century. Man can fly, now. We're growing up. The Earth is round and meteorites fall from the sky and continents drift and dinosaurs walked the land for millions of years and God didn't create the world in 6 puny days. The immensity of the Universe and life itself took billions of years! The ancient scholars couldn't have known any of this, for which they are forgiven. Don't continue to be misled. Science is the methodical study of God's handiwork. We will not have all the answers until we leave this planet, but we shouldn't keep our kiddie blinders on either. All the facts are there, we need to put the pieces together properly. End of sermon. Sun 21Oct07 God bless.

Concerning the debate going on about intelligent design and evolution: is it possible that the final answer about which of these two seemingly opposite ideas is correct could simply be yes?
With one position firmly held by the believers and the other just as fearlessly defended by the non-believers, if you happen to be in a position somewhere near the middle, it does not look all that complex. From this position, you wonder why either-or has to be the answer.
If you believe that some higher being created the universe by intelligent design, what more elegant and intelligent design could there have been than a self-regulating system that continually checks its own errors and makes its own corrections in mid-stream as an integral part of the process.
This all seems quite logical to me although it probably won’t satisfy the believers because they are afraid to see any truth other than the one they have been told to believe in. Inversely it certainly won’t satisfy the non-believers because it leaves them stuck with a god that they are so obviously terrified of.
To sum up this view from the center, it might be most easily be explained by saying perhaps the designer was intelligent. Problem is, the designer was likely so intelligent that those seeking to prove that it is intelligently designed may be incapable of ever understand it well enough to see it for the elegant self regulating design that it has always been.
The nonbelievers will be similarly handicapped due to the internal terror the have about the idea that there may be a God. Neither side being able to leave their entrenched position for fear they may have to admit they were wrong. While the rest of us stand by trying to figure out what all the fuss is about. Personally I don’t think anyone is wrong, I just feel both sides are about half right.
Love and blessings

You can't--either one is true or the other. To take the account of Genesis creation, each creation day is described as "the" "morning and night" which is impossible to fit in as millions of years. At the end, God looked on everything and said it was "good"---millions of years of death and suffering would not be good. God made man in His image...not from a common ancestor with apes.
If a good friend of yours built a huge mansion for you by his own efforts for free and stocked it with lots of food and clothing and other modern conveniences, how would that friend feel towards you if you told everyone that someone else did it or you did it by yourself? Shouldn't the one that built it and provided everything for you get the credit?
God created everything in the universe in 6 literal 24 hour days, made man in His image, not from a common ancestor with apes and deserves the credit.

There has to be some start point which is not yet explained properly. Why can't that the start point could be the invisible God.??

Dear Atheist,
I "As a Thinking Person", like yourself, have never been able to accept your Atheism? as something that's got anything to back It up. I don't really mean, you personally, I mean as a generalisation?, A Concept. I mean your very first sentence set me on guard (As It were), right away.
You said, "Did GOD?. Is there no other way an atheist can express his point of view, without using the GOD!!, word As far as I am concerned, the rest of the question you asked, Is so much "Stardust" FLOATING ABOUT. With no reason or rhyme, or sense?.
I personally think "In Your Case"?, you are Deeply religious?, and don't know how to express It tangibly?

As True Born Again Christian, i believe on the 6 days creation, for i have faith in my heart to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Almighty God Creator whocreated everything!
Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Joh 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Joh 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Joh 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Joh 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Therefore, this explains why i believe the 6 days of creation according to God, my Lord Jesus Christ ! AMEN.
How about you? How did you came to exist? what's your origin? Did you just come out of nothing and now here you are in Yahoo Q & A?

You can believe that evolution is a scientific theory based on facts and testable evidence and the story of creation is a beautiful and interesting story written by a man who described how he thought that God created the world.

I am one that believes in evolution and in the creation account.
I am 57 years old and have evolved from a baby to a child to an adult to an old man.
My body has changed, my thinking has changed, I have evolved.
Because if we evolved from monkeys, there would be no more monkeys.
