Okay you Christian disbelievers! there were six stages of
human evolution>> 1. Ramapithicus 2.Australopithicus
3.Homo Habillis 4.Homo Erectus 5.Neanderthal
6.Cro-Magnon (Homo Sapiens) and you flying Spaghetti Monster had nothing to do with their jorney on this planet
as all were Evolved from each other and not CREATED,the
Great apes are our nearest living relatives,Ramapithicus is
10 million years old and the first true humans appeared on this planet 2million years ago,and according to the Christian scriptures God is only 2,000 years old,so that would make man older than your religion by a country mile eh!!!!

Unfortunately your ill-informed rant has done more to set back the otherwise cogent and concise argument in favour of human evolution than all the crackpot creationist drivel that appears on here in a month.

If you don't know your facts then I respectfully suggest that you hold your tongue

I don't see where the problem of the Theory of Evolution comes from. The order in which God made the world follows the evolutionary path. One day for humans is the blink of an eye for God we are told, so that deals with the time factor. Why should religion and evolution be considered incompatable?

If you're going to try and post anthropology lessons intended to make Christians look dumb, it would be best if you got your facts at least somewhere near to being accurate. (by the way, not all Christians are creationists - I'm not.)

Australopithecines were a derived form of the first proto-hominid, and not directly ancestral to us (since they coexisted with the Homo lineage.)

Homo Habilis, similarly, seems to be a derived form of an earlier form of Homo, and coexisted with the early forms of Homo Erectus (such as Ergaster.)

Contrary to another poster, Homo Erectus certainly were our ancestor - they are the only continuous hominid lineage that takes our genus into the Middle Paleolithic from the lower Paleolithic - but they are the only species on your list that is our ancestor.

The Neanderthals were an advanced cold adapted people who were not a more primitive form of us, but another human lineage with advanced language and intelligence. They died out in the Upper Paleolithic, and did not contribute to our pool of ancestry.

The first "true humans" (I assume you mean us) did not in fact appear until about 200,000 years ago, and did not radiate out of Africa/middle east until about 90,000 years ago.

Sorry, you are wrong. Homo Neanderthalis and Homo Sapiens coexisted. Neanderthals are not our ancestors. Modern humans appeared about 200,000 years ago and you seem to have left Homo Ergaster off the list. The Biblical god is somewhat older than 2000 years, that's JC at that age, his dad was a few thousand years older.

I appreciate your sentiments but there is a lot more to human evolution than the simple line you have stated.

Neanderthals and Homo eretus weren't direct descendants of Homo sapiens.
