It is my personal experience that guys can tell who is a barfly and who is not. If they buy a drink for a barfly they expect sex. If they buy one for a girl that is normally not there then it is an attempt to see if they have a chance, after several then yes they expect it.

In the minds of most young men this is the case. It is hard to believe at times the following equation:
Buy drinks for girl = girl must have sex with me
This is hormone mathematics and it doesn't add up.

A free drink is just that, a free drink. I'm sure some of us do but not all of us. I know a lot of women who compete to see who can get the most free drinks. As far as the otherside of the fence I have no idea.

I'm a woman I thought "putting out" was the best kind of thank you for buying me drinks at the bar. Wasn't I using proper etiquette? ha.

If you think that people can get drinks at a bar for free, then I would advise you to go to a bar and try it out for yourself, either by buying others free drinks or trying to get them free from others.
The experience would be worthwhile.
