I've got the XC90 T6,2.9 twin turbo.Only gets used round town and it returns 13mpg.Not great but it goes well!

You only get out what you put in. The Diesels are ok But the petrols are a bit thirsty and you will struggle to get 25 mpg with a petrol version. But what do you expect, It is not going to do the same mpg as a 1.0 litre nissan micra now is it!!

My T5 is a bit thirsty! Does about 18 to the gallon. Hubbys XC diesel version does better though.

My old 740 with 230,000 miles with gets 32MPG mixed fuel economy. Engine is the B230 gas non turbo.

the bigger the car and the bigger the engine the more fuel you consume, Volvo' are ok though

i had a 2.4litre straight six turbo diesel... 23 around town and 40 on a run (at 80mph)
my mates has the 850 2.5ltr 24v petrol. he gets 15, and 28...

can you afford to have a fuel tanker follow you for your next fill up?,got the message,if your lucky,on a run maybe 22mpg,even much less around town,unless your loaded ,pick something else

they are ok, just a few miles per gallon than an american large car....alot will also depend on the speed you travel....But for the size I would say excellent..
