i'm not sure exactly from where. it would have been to the hospital in basingstoke. i just want to know about when the earliest and latest trains ran...

Your best shot would be to get hold of a copy of the British Railways Southern Region Timetable, Summer or Winter 1950, either original or facsimile.

It may also be be possible to get hold of Bradshaw's Railway Guide which was published monthly.

Failing that you could try any community web sites for the Basingstoke area and ask if anyone can remember what time the trains ran.
