I have not done thorough study by any means and perhaps this is a bit of a stretch. Is it possible that the Muslim faith will usher in the Hidden Imam who will bring forth the antichrist? It all seems to fit; their end times with our end times that is. Their end times states that the Hidden Imam (12th Imam) will usher in "Jesus" who will confront the Jews and the Christians and tell them they were wrong via the sword.
The Christian's antichrist will be ushered in by a false prophet and tell Christians they are wrong and kill them for not conforming by beheading (see rev 20:4) The muslims are currently beheading westerners in their faith.
What are your thoughts on this? Am I crazy? Should I go to sleep? Agree its possible?

Hey Snout. This is a quesiton and answer forum. This is not some delusional rant that I have created and I am attempting to "rally the troops" so to speak to move the end of the world along. You almost sounds paranoid. I happen to be a believer in the Christian faith. That is my choice. My faith is centered around Christ and I choose to live by the bible. This is not some theocracy setup here on yahoo QA. You sound like a nut, really.

You are somewhere close to the right conclusion,
In fact at the end of time the antichrist will emerge. Yes he will have alot of followers but they all are decieved and those who do not follow him he will kill or try to kill. Then the muslim imam as Mohammad PBUH said would come in the end of time to lead men to fight against the antichrist. However, he wont be able to kill him. At that time Jesus PBUH will decend from the sky to earth, he will pray at dawn to God with the Imam of muslims and the he Jesus will kill the antichrist and peace would come to earth. Thats until the Gog and Magog (People) emerge when Jesus will take his people up in the high lands to take shelter. Then a plague will hit the Gog and Magog and then land will come to peace again.
Its a long story hope I answered your question

The anti-christ is a man with human parents and the spirit of Satan enters him later in life. He isn't born that way, like "Damien" or "Rosemary's Baby" movies. He will be an intellectual genius, an oratorical genius, political genius, commercial genius, military genius, religious genius, he will begin by controlling the western block, he will make a 7 year convenant with Israel but will break it, he will attempt to destroy all of Israel, he will destroy the false religious system of that time so he can rule unhindered, he will set himself up as God, he will briefly rule over all nations, he will lose to Jesus at Armageddon, he will be the first creature thrown in the lake of fire, he will be a master of deceit, he will profane the temple, he will be energized by Satan himself, he will do everything according to his own selfish will, he will not regard the God of his fathers, his god will be the god of power, he will have no desire of women. Also, the generation that sees the reestablishment of the nation of Israel will see the end. What is a generation? A 100 years. Israel became a nation on May 5, 1948. Basically, a 200 million man army descends upon Israel in the Valley of Megiddo. I think these armies will be Muslim. A revived Roman Empire of 10 countries-5 strong (USA is one), 5 weak-come to Israel's aid. Sounds like a partial coalition to me. The western coalition wins but one third of the world dies instantly, and another third dies from famine and plague-nuclear war, I believe. The leader of this revived roman empire (president, probably) restores order to the world and is a good man for 3 and a half years, but then Satan enters him and he turns evil and wants the world to worship him and Israel refuses. After another 3 and a half years, he attacks Israel and if the day were not shortened, mankind would cease to exist. But, the Jews finally turn to Christ and He comes back and defeats the devil. Christians are resurrected, life on earth is perfect for a thousand years and then this heaven and earth are rolled up like a scroll and a new heaven and earth are created by God. Read Revelation (especially chapter 21 and Book of Daniel). I personally believe that 9/11 will be looked back upon as the beginning of the end. Also the Bible says that in the final days, people will be proud of what they should be ashamed of, there will be an increase of knowledge as never before in the history of the world, evil will increase and so will the good to fight said evil, that the nation of Israel will be reestablished -1948 and they will get Jerusalem back when the time of the gentiles is fulfilled-1967.

As I understand it, Antichrist will be the 12th Imam and also be the one who is favored amongst the Jews. They will love him.
Also, as I understand it, as armies march to Jerusalem to fight it, the Antichrist will go into the new temple at Jerusalem and enter the Holy of Holies, I imagine an ultimate sense of betrayal will be what the Jews feel when that happens.
Then the fighting will start. Half of Jerusalem will be overcome by the armies, women raped and some of the people carried off into bondage. At that time the Lord will return with ten thousands of His saints; that is the 'Day of Vengeance'. ( Isaiah 61:2b ; Zechariah 14:3 - 15 ; Zechariah 12 ; Ezekiel 38: 17 - 23 ; Ezekiel 39 : 1 - 24)
This is why Jesus said that if someone tells you "he is in the desert", or "he is over there" Jesus said do not go there. There will be no doubt when Jesus returns to the Earth. He will bring down all the armies that came against Jerusalem, and rot their faces off, causing their eyes to rot out of their sockets, and tongues to rot in their mouths. He will come in the clouds with ten thousands of His saints.

Do not go to sleep yet.
We do not know what may happen but the line of thought is that the Antichrist will come from Rome catholic church. There is some secrets that not many outsiders know that is going on in there. I also agree with you that Islam can also produce Antichrist. All we need to be ready for the coming of our lord and Savior. I hope you also are ready and before you go to sleep think where will you also spend eternity

I'm with Baj here. This ruminating about the dreams and fantasies of ancient psychologically disturbed fanatics as though they predict literal future events is plain crazy.
The scary bit is that significant numbers of Christians and Muslims take their respective hallucinations seriously, and some want to actually bring forward the destruction of humankind.
This is gross insanity on a tribal, rather than individual level. It is frightening to have to share a planet with people whose religion is floridly psychotic. As Sam Harris says, this is a moral emergency.
I don't want to seem like I'm overstating the case here, but this is seriously dangerous madness.
[Edit] Lucid, I don't wish to sound paranoid, but I am genuinely concerned about the apocalyptic focus of many streams of popular religion.
I have read many of your questions and answers, and I am fairly sure you are a sane, intelligent and sensible person. Nor do I believe that Christianity or Islam are inherently crazy - both religions at their best can provide a sound, compassionate, intellectually credible and meaningful structure to human lives.
However, both religions also have an "off" switch for reason and critical thinking. Both religions (at their worst) use psychological traps and sometimes outright threats of violence to those who question beliefs that are, on rational examination, absurd at best. The parallels of these mechanisms with the processes in individual psychosis have been regularly remarked on by philosophers and mental health practitioners.
I stand by my assertion that in a social, as opposed to individual, context these are potentially catastrophic. Poisoned Koolaid, the 9-11 attacks, crusades, witch hunts, and other forms of mass insanity all have an element in common. Religions (and also some secular ideologies) that fail to identify and resist this element are grossly dysfunctional.
I gather you are a Christian. I recommend the following book by a sane, sensible Christian theologian who has earned the respect of atheists like myself and conservative believers from many faiths:

This is really what adults talk about? That may sound insulting, but I can think of no other way to say it.
I have read all these responses and my mouth is literally agape in wonder/horror.
Do you not get that you are *adults* who believe so much in fairytales that you literally LONG for them to come 'true', and so will, actually , willingly BE part of this delusional religion vs religion self-fulfilling 'prophecy' to that 'end'?? (excuse the pun)
I'm sorry, but I wouldn't even let any of you babysit...
Yet religionists who think like this are responsible for military decisions and foreign relations, world powers etc...?
Power over the FUTURE, a future which you believe is 'fated'? That is seriously f***ed. Sorry, but it is.
Grow up, please. It's not big or clever.

I can definitely see the Anti-Christ coming from the Muslim faith... for lots of reasons that have nothing to do with common stereotypes that Americans have regarding Muslims.
Either way, the majority of the activity is supposed to take place around Jerusalem, so as long as you stay here in the States you should be okay for the time being.
EDIT:
Geography (proximity to Jerusalem, for starters); Abrahamic roots; centuries-long feud with Judaism and Christianity... that's the short version.

8/22/04 From Timothy, moved by The Spirit of God - For All Those Who Have Ears to Hear
The time has come...
The time for great things, both in Heaven and on earth, to make themselves known.
Soon the countries will fall, and fall they will... Far from God and His graces.
The time is at hand for The Lord God to pour out His judgments, upon the face of the whole world... Then they will KNOW He is The Lord, The God of Jacob, The God of Isaac and The God of Abraham.
The nations will cry out, "Lord, why have you done this?!"...
Those, who cry for mercy and in repentance, will be heard...
And those, who cry in rebellion, their hearts will The Lord Himself harden,
For they have already chosen the evil one.
In those days will He divide the people,
As the wheat separated from the vine of the earth,
Lest the vine choke His people and cause them to go astray.
Many will die, but do not grieve, for they will see God... For God holds them in the palm of His right hand. Also, many more will die before the end, who He will not hold but cast out of His Kingdom. For long have they rebelled against their Father in Heaven, and long has The Father reached out to them, yet they will not come. The Kingdom of God is for all those who love Him and obey Him... The rebellious and evil of heart may not enter. Even with heaviness of heart, even so it must be.
So then, all who have ears to hear, awake from your slumber!...
Awake, I say!... For you have heard the call...
Awake and serve your God!
All who have been chosen, do not fear, for you are His sealed ones and no harm will befall you, for strong is The Lord, your God. Soon your prayers will be answered...
For The Son is coming quickly,
Coming through the door, the door no one can shut...
No, no one above the earth, below the earth, or in Heaven...
NO ONE...
For once His will is purposed, so shall it be done.
Amen.

The Muslims are very wrong in their way of beheading christian people. In doing it they are violating the lawq of God and are following the dictates of the evil spirit to them. Their teachings are not for God but for the devil.
