Never under-estimate your enemy.....always expect the
unexpected....a paper tiger burns easily once ignited...!

Our troops are not getting the full amount of firepower
which is possible in conventional weapons because
"...it cost too much....". (The V-22 aircraft has only a
rear firing gun which means it can only aim at where it has
been and not where it is going.....appropriations says
it costs too much to put one on which will fire a large
enough caliber at 360 degrees ...a must have option
in any manuver....). I suppose this war is worth fighting
to the white collar warriors, but the troops can consider
themselves 'expendable' due to the 'white collar save
a dollar' mentality. This would make one wonder what else
is being held back from our troops, especially should
this nasty part of the world become a neuclear conflict.

So if our military,(all branches are slated to be armed
with the likes of the V-22 w/ "pea shooter" intalled), has not
the very best available equipment, it would really pay
NOT TO UNDER-ESTIMATE your enemy.....[To beat
it's enemy, Russia would not hold back...and Iran is NOT
Russia's enemy]!

The first line says "rockets"
Rockets are unguided and very inaccurate. If they do fire all their rockets they might blow up some bases in Iraq but we have a whole country full of troops back here in the US ready to be deployed in Iran within 24 hours. Iran does not have ICBM's and we do we can simple bomb them to the dirt without even leaving our homes. So all that boasting of Iran is pretty must pointless cuz when it comes down to it they can't do a damn thing to the US while we can decimate them without even losing one American life. The worst thing that can happen is the missle operator getting a sore thumb from pressing the LAUNCH button.

That article you post from the inteldaily is just another piece of Iranian crappy propaganda.
The problem with it is Fourfold.

1. while they may have 10,000 rockets as they claimed. they dont have that many launchers. there is a reload time. they cannot fire them all off within a minute. that is utter BS.

2. The "rockets" are just that. unguided short range battlefield rockets meant to be aimed at troop concentrations that are attacking. Utterly useless and ineffective if they were to be used in the way that the article claims. Can you say empty threat? I knew you could.

3. Iran does not have the command and control capability to orchestrate a simultaneous attack by all rocket forces. unless this is a pre-planned attack which means they (Iran) attacks us first. if they do that then they just gave to go-ahead for the US to make Iran a parking lot.

4. Any "pushing of the button" by Bush in a pre-emptive attack on Iran would have the elimination of those rocket forces as part of the first strikes. By the time Iran knew it was under attack, Iran would not have anything left to attack with.

After 4 years of being bogged down by 'insurgent' warfare, People tend to forget exaclty American Armed Forces are capable of when it comes to fighting an organized government conventional Military force.
Remember back to the nights of Jan 16th-17th of 1991. Ask Saddam's Elite Republican Guard.

This Article is just the latest example of a string of Iranian BS propaganda that any INTELLIGENT person would dismiss out of hand. You want examples of others?

THE CLAIM:
Iran Claims to have the SS-N-22 Sunburn Anti Ship Missile in coastal batteries that would sink any US warship.
To Prove it. Iran releases a Video that shows an Anti-Ship missile test showing the launch and hit on a target ship.
THE TRUTH:
The SS-N-22 Sunburn (AKA P-250 Moskit) is a most advanced Russian Design that would give US Navy nightmares. But Iran does not have them.
What is shown in the video is an older model Anti-Ship missile known as the Silkworm. Silkworm is a Chinese knockoff of an even older Russian design known as the SS-N-2 Styx Missile. The WORLD'S FIRST Anti-Ship missile from way back in the 1950's. All the Chinese did was extend the body of the missile to give it a bigger fuel tank and a somewhat larger range.
Iran has had the Silkworm for years. The US Navy knows every aspect of it and can easily jam and decoy (or shoot down) this missile.
There is absolutely no mistaking the Silkworm for the Sunburn. The two missiles look nothing alike.

THE CLAIM:
Iranian website hosts photos of what they claim are pics of advanced anti-ship missiles in the hands of Hamas killing an Israeli destroyer during the 2004 fighting.
THE TRUTH:
Photos on the website are still photos from a video that has been available on the internet for years. It is footage of a TORPEDO exercise conducted by the Austrailians by one of their subs against a decommissioned Austrailian destroyer, the HMAS Torrens.

THE CLAIM:
Iran has a Stealth drone that is unstoppable and can slip past our Carriers defenses to target American Carriers for attack.
THE TRUTH:
Iran has a remote controlled (not stealthy) plane that can send back images from a video cam. It has no targetting capability, it is NOT stealthy, and we can easily shoot it down. It did NOT sneak past our Defenses, we ALLOWED it to fly past. we had nothing to hide. what did they get images of? A carrier at sea with planes on deck. Hell they could have asked and we would have sent them all the video they wanted. LOL.

THE CLAIM:
Iran has an advanced Stealth fighter more advanced than anything the US has.
THE TRUTH:
Iran showed pics of a mockup static display of a futuristic looking fighter. This Fighter was nothing more than an F-20 tigershark (like the chaseplanes you see following the Space shuttle on landing) with added false panels to give it a stealthy look. It's not real folks.

Myself. I am a former Electronic Warfare Systems Operater (EW) for the US Navy. I have made two deployments to the Persian Gulf and my primary job is Anti-Ship Missile Defense I had to know inside and out the capabilities of various missiles including the Sunburn, Silkworm, Styx, etc...
Our job was also to keep our captain updated and informed on the order of battle of potential hostile forces that could be used against us.

I know whereof I speak.

They threatened to shoot rockets at targets near them--probably US military targets in Iraq and Afghanistan. The US should "push the button" right now! Iran needs a spanking!

God bless America!

They are reminding whoever is willing to listen that keeping the military option on the table will come at a price, as Iran has sophisticated conventional weapons too. The changes of exaggeration and bluster are high, but who is willing to take that chance?

Did they they threaten to toast every last GI in Iraq? Ooh, possibly, but I think they're referring to every American base in range of their artillery - not just Iraq.
