I once asked this girl if she believed in the "Hereafter", she said "Yes", so I said, "Then you know what I'm Hereafter"! (I thought she was gonna slap me)

I don't, yet, in a sense, I do...
I do not believe in an automatic transfer from human to spirit life. I do believe in a resurrection --of those who have not been totally willful sinners-- to perfect human life, on a perfectly restored earth. This resurrection is a hope with very solid foundations!:
"Most truly I say... The hour is coming... when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who have given heed will live... Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out..." --John 5:25-29
"And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened.... And the sea gave up those dead in it, and death and Ha′des gave up those dead in them..." --Revelation 20:12-15
When something is mentioned 2x in Scripture, it is being emphasized & established.

Hope is not meaningless. But death is certain.
I don't believe in life after death. Unless you are talking about bacteria in my digestive system...

You mean eternity. of course I believe and so will you once you come to it but now you have a choice of which eternity you want to be in
