I would say that $20 is a lot for an allowance for a cat.....maybe just one or two bucks until he is old enough to know what to do with it other than chew it up. LOL!!!

Perhaps kitty is dissatisfied with his food? Keep a bowl of dry food handy and I'm sure he'll prefer this to your money. Some cats just like to chew on things and money must smell interesting after passing through all those hands and being stuffed in wallets. What's your money doing lying around for the cat to get anyway? A smart kitty would just hide it somewhere until he had enough money to buy a ticket to Katmandu.

Put your money where he can't get to it.
Buy some chew toys for your cat and show her to chew those

IF you have the majority of the bill, or it even comes out the other end in big enough pieces, a bank will exchange it for you.
Don't leave money laying around.

My cats have shredded my money before also. The best thing you can do is simply put your $'s or any important paper documents in drawers or somewhere you know it will be impossible for them to get to it.

Tell him money is dirty and should not be put in his lil' mouth. Germs!!! Does he have a piggy bank? If not get him one and show him how to use it.
I hope this helps.
