When it comes to the Bible, I've made my share of stupid statements. It's a very complex book with a lot of history and a wide variety of interpretations, and an uneducated attack on it is just as bad as a creationist who says, "Why are there still monkeys?"
Isn't it better to educate ourselves on the things that we're critiquing, than it is to offer a mindless attack?

An example of an ignorant attack on the Bible, would be quoting things out of context. The Bible uses a lot of symbolism, and anybody who says that a metaphor is unrealistic ends up looking like a moron. Spoken from experience, I have to admit.

An ignorant creationist attack on evolution is much worse in my opinion. I haven't read the bible, so I keep my mouth shut and don't answer questions about it. I wish people who knew nothing about evoluion (you can tell the moment you read their answers) would keep their mouths shut and not answer questions related to something they obviously have no clue about.

Atheists who show flaws, errors and inconsitencies in the Bible have usually read it. Creationists have usually read nothing of evolution and very little of science so they speak from ignorance.
The Bible is full of metaphor, all good writing is. The problem is those who claim that the Bible is literally true, in other words that there is no metaphor in the Bible. This is so illogical it is indefensible but there are still many who adhere to this idea. I think you will find that it is not the Bible that is being criticised but the Bible literalists. I have a lot of respect for the Bible as a book of religion but it is not a book of science or mathematics and it is not too hot on history and geography either.

I don't need to quote the bible out of context, there are some pretty stupid parts in there. But that is not the sole domain of atheists, theists are prone to quoting out of context to make a point too.

They're both equally bad. Unfortunately I have found that the ignorant creationist is far more common than the ignorant Atheist.
By the way, most Atheists on here hate it when you use 'Atheist' synonymously with 'Evolutionist' or 'Naturalist'. One is a philosophy, the other is a scientific standpoint.

Any attack that's based on ignorance is pretty bad, IMO. Doesn't matter which side it's coming from. I've seen my fair share of stupidity from both the theists and atheists on R&S.

How is there ignorant attacks on the Bible? I usually see atheists criticizing the fundy or literal interpretation of the Bible which is very easy to do.
Ignorant attacks on evolution are much more annoying for me.

I think they are both equal-both say the same thing over and over and over again. But the atheist may be a bit more humors than the Christians.
