Honesty, they're good parents and they provide and care for me, it's just they have these kind of problems. I've tried talking with them and showing them all the negative effects it has and they are fully aware and won't stop. They always say "oh I'll stop", but of course never even an attempt happens.

They seem to have some type of motivation to stop (not wanting to smoke), but there is no ignition get them actually going. On the other hand they give me bullshit excuses to why they smoke. Ex. "Smoking gives me a brake from everyone.",

Speaking from my own experience, there is no way. If they didn't stop smoking when you were born, chances are, they won't stop. My dad was a smoker for 35 years. I asked him to stop smoking for 10 every birthday, but he didnt. He had a brain aneurysm, meaning he had a surgery which cost tens of thousands of dollars, stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks, and my mom and i suffered so much, but he still hasn't quit. I really can't tell you a secret way to stop them from smoking. It's really sad, but now i feel like he doesn't love me. They started smoking, and they can't stop. Unfortunately, smoking not only affects them, but really affects your life, too. Chances are that they'll die early on, you are more likely for health problems to develop, and you are also more likely to start smoking. At least you'll know that you should never ever start smoking, no matter what, because it will cause hurt to your future family, just like alcoholism and drugs. I hope that you can get them to at least reduce their smoking. Good luck.

Sorry, but there is no way to "make" anyone stop anything, especially an addictive habit. The best that you can do is make sure that they are aware that their smoking bothers you. You can leave "hints" like books on how to stop smoking or literature on the dangers of smoking. You can let this really annoy and stress you out or you can get over it and move on... let one good thing come of this, though and never start smoking yourself :) Good luck!

You cannot make them stop. They have to want to stop. I said I would quit for 16 years before I finally did it.

You can't "make" someone stop smoking. They have to want to stop. My father smoked for over 50 years in spite of pleading from me and my mother. He got cancer and actually asked "why me??"

Basically, all you can do is be there for them when they get sick from it, either cancer or heart disease or emphysema.
