They offered to pay me. I like it because the whole place is old, I like old places and the people are old and I like old people. They like me too because I am old so we match.
The work is easy, the people are nice, I do whatever I want and they think I work hard so pay me pretty good.

I chose to go to nursing school. I chose nursingt for several reasons. I have a lot of sympathy for people who are dealing with illness. I have the constitution to deal with unpleasantness like blood and bodily fluids. Helping people makes me feel good. The length of schooling required was feasible in my situation. There were nursing jobs in the area in which I wanted to live. I felt that there would be job security because people would continue to need health care, regardless of economic conditions.
This was an excellent choice for me and I enjoyed my work for over 30 years. Nursing was my second career. My first love was farming, but I couldn't make a living on the farm. I worked as a nurse and ran the farm as best I could with help from my children and mother in law.
I wouldn't have wanted a job that I would eventually know everything about. Farming and nursing were both work that no person can ever know everything about. I had to read to keep up with new developments in both jobs.
It's been a very rewarding life. The only drawbacks have been in the nursing field. As time went on, the insurance companies became more and more tight fisted, forcing us to release patients from the hospital before it was really safe. Nurses today are working under very difficult conditions in that it's more difficult to provide the patient care that they'd like everyone to have. The bottom line is the almight dollar, not the patient. That's very sad and frustrating. Hopefully that will change.

Because it came with free Vacations Travel and Cruises plus Free Medical and Life Insurance.
I figured if I am going to work for my boss plus pay for my own medical and then only get 2 weeks vacation per year why wouldn't I work if I could get it for free. Plus earn bonus of 1,000 to 1 Million Dollars.

I chose my job as I wanted to work for a small company (there are only three of us - including me!) where there wouldn't be any gossip\backstabbing and it also allowed me to do a variety of things from accounts, to sales, reception etc.
