Complex Migraines?

I have had continuous headaches/migraines for three years now non stop. It all started when I got my braces on. Now I am in College. High school was hard because I had many ocular migraines (tunnel vision) and complex migraines (stroke symtoms for days) and cluster headaches which made me immobile for long periods of time.
I wanted to know, could my migraines for over 3 years be caused by my teeth moving/shifting from braces?

I have had tests done everywhere including Mayo Clinic, MRI's with and without contrast and CT scans. I have been to many different neurologist and they all said that I have one of the worst cases they have seen, and they have been doctors for over 30 years. They all just said that I have complex migraines and I just have to take B Complex with Riboflavin. But I went to a Dental Seminar, I am in Dental School, and I learned that people with headaches can have Temporomandibular Joint Disorders and grinding teeth, and this may be my cause. I hope it is, because I can't deal with 24/7 and 365 headaches and migraines that impair me anymore.

It sounds like you need to see a physician about the headaches. Especially because you have had a variety of headaches you may even want to have a MRI or CT scan done. It is possible for a nerve to have gotten damaged by the braces but I believe it could be more.

Go to your doctor and have some tests done. I'm not a big fan on homeopathic remedies for headaches. There are to many variations and potential problems.

I have suffered with headaches due to seizures and a brain aneurysm and allergies along with other causes. Headaches can be triggered by so many things.

OK a short answer would be yes! I suffer from headaches like yourself. Mine started right after high school graduation! Mine have gotten better since my wisdom teeth were pulled. I still get them but not as many and not so many of the complex ones. I think some of the relief has come from the release of pressure from getting my wisdom teeth pulled. I still get cluster headaches and stress and tension migraines but life's not fair!

Make sure you see a doctor to rule out anything sinister before using alternative therapies. I don't want to scare you, but my 'migraines' that I ignored for too long, ended up being, thankfully, benign and operable brain tumor. The chances are slim, but still needs to be looked at. Good luck.
