That can be true but not always. Mothers are always trying to pick out men for their daughters - but it's completely different taste. Take "I Love New York" for example. Between New York and her mother - they just can't agree on men at all. The common taste in men varies. Some mothers and daughters have it, others don't!

The daughter usually looks for someone that reminds her of the way her dad acted if he was a good father. That happens a lot.
