I'm not sure about that particular drug, but with antidepressants generally it's *not* a good idea to suddenly stop them without medical supervision. Some of them you need to be weaned off slowly or you get massive rebound - and why hurry if that's going to happen? Not only that, but it's generally important for your doctor to know what medications you are taking and to be able to check in on your health (mental and otherwise) as you come off it.

You really shouldn't quit it without the supervision of your doctor. They know the right way to wean you off a drug with the least amount of withdrawal symptoms. Not sure why you'd want to get off the medication yet if it's helping you unless you think your depression (or whatever) won't come back.

I quit Zoloft on my own without any problems but I wouldn't recommend anyone else doing it. I weaned myself off of it slowly.

many people make the mistake of quitting a med once they start feeling better because they think they dont need it anymore. most times its the drug that is making you better.you may find out the hard way. i say , stay on the drug, or work with your doc to slowly wean, keeping track of how you feel throughout the withdrawal.

You should never abruptly stop taking a medication on your own without speaking with your doctor. Chances are that you will soon start feeling like you did when you started the medication and possibly worse.

I researched online for you and found an answer to your question. It was answered by a pharmasist. If this doesn't work then Google "citalopram withdrawls" Hope this helps

Pray about it. I need more data as to your condition before I could give you any other advice; but prayer is always the best thing to do.
