That's true and also they believe they have some complimentary tickets which they can give to people like us for a free trip to heaven.I kind of admire their confidence(misplaced though).

People can not trick God. If a person sins and thinks he'll go to heaven just because he believes in Him, then they are wrong. God knows every-ones hearts. So to say I am saved and now I can do anything I want to is wrong. That means you haven't been saved, because you didn't do it with a pure heart and intentions.
Example: If you play a sport, you would put your best into it. You would be committed to be great at it, come to practices, sacrifice your time etc. so you could be good when the big game comes. What would happen if you slaked off? if you didn't show up for practices, missed the ball and didn't care, or didn't show any interest in winning and letting your team down? you get the picture

Same with God If a person is a true believer and truly gave their heart to God, people will see the difference, because they will do their best to serve their Creator
- by reading the Bible, because that's our guide book, repenting of our sins because we regret what we did and disappointed our God,
-we would tell others about our Heavenly Father, because we want to share the good news of what awaits us when we die as a christian and we would serve him well because He deserves it. Because He sent His only Son to earth to die for our sins, so we could have salvation and live with Him forever. Not in hell where devil was sent, and is deceiving people and lying to them.

So you could tell a true born again believer from a fake one.

First, you need to distinguish fundamentalists, better known as evangelicals, from those who believe in eternal security ("once in grace, always in grace"), who represent a small minority of evangelicals.

Even the eternal securitists hedge on committing sins because, as they reason, if they commit sins, it would indicate that they had not been saved to begin with. Thus, they have some motivation to refrain from sin because sinfulness would indicate insincere conversion.

A dogmatic believer in eternal security, however, would have to allow for committing any sin that comes along. Given a genuine conversion, and presuming God will not allow the converted to fall, whatever sins they commit, then they could clearly indulge in any sin they please, confident in their salvation.

Lest any Christian fall into this error, it is good to review Jesus' explicit teaching AGAINST eternal security:

Matthew 10:22: And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.
Matthew 24:13: But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
Mark 13:13: And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
Luke 21:16-19: You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. All men will hate you because of me. But not a hair of your head will perish. By standing firm you will gain life.

Cheers,
Bruce

It has always been at the back of my mind. Christianity almost seems as though it is too easy at times. You can do anything, as long as you cry out to Jesus on your deathbed, you'll be fine. But what if someone has been a faithful follower all of that time and they just get disillusioned and "mess up" at the end? How should their reward less than someone who's done of kinds of dirt but just crows "Jesus" at the end. It's just like that whole Prodigal Son thing. It just never seemed fair to me.

You say this as a statement, as if you know it to be true. Site your source for you seeming to know that "Bible fundies" commit any sin they like.

Yep---fundies seem to miss that little rider Christ added to the contract when he said--"calling me Lord ,Lord means nothing unless you obey the rules--like never judging others & treating others as you would like to be treated!!

I do not commit sins,I try very hard to do the will of Jesus. I am
not perfect, but my sins are bad thoughts about those who hurt me and sometimes anger.I pray right away when this occurs.

I think human beings across the board can be arrogant, and there are religious individuals who behave arrogantly in front of their chosen god, not to mention all others who they feel are beneath them simply because those others don't share in their beliefs.

i dont believe that if someone calls themselves a christian they would willfully be committing a sin for the fun of it, a true christian does not willfully sin, and no one is above sinning, so if a christian is sinning for fun, they should really evaluate their walk
