I have that camera and it takes great night time pics. Suppose u need to set it to night time or fireworks setting. Or just set the ISO to ISO 3200. I'm not very good for explaining how to take night time pics, so look at the link below.

You can't, unless you get a camera which you can manually adjust to adopt or compensate for the minimized source of light. Well, not exactly, you can still get acceptable pictures, even good ones, if you:
1) learn your camera - what is the limit of your camera?
2) compensate - you adjust your position, look for possible sources of light.
Not easy, yes. But, then again, we can only demand so much from our cameras. Unless you get an SLR and proper lighting, etc... you adjust yourself. The sony cybershot camera you have is good. But like all point and shoot cams, have limitations at night.

It would be helpful to know exactly what you mean by
"... pictures at night..." Do you mean with flash or do you want to take pictures of night scenes using only available light?
When I think of pictures at night I think of a tripod and long exposures.

for consumer cameras like tht you will definitely need a tripod as they are prone to camera shake... plus if your able to up the ISO high enough, but be aware by raising the ISO it will also add nasty noises to your images. (the noise are like little noticeable dots throughout the image)

Can't recommend a camera unless I know what was wrong with the CyberShot's images.

buy a slave flash unit, the flash on point and shoots is poor, so are the ones on DSLRs, use off camera flash if you can
tripod is required for longer exposures
a photography course will do more for your images.....
