They both manifested the same things. Simon was called a magician for doing them and Jesus a miracle worker. Why?

One theory is that Simon Magus is actually Paul of Tarsus, inserted by his enemies into their version of events as propaganda, long before they were combined by Constantine's scholars into the authorised Bible.

Because Jesus came first. By that time, people had already accepted him as Messiah, and saw anything else as evil.
