Is KNOWING even possible? People cannot be 100% sure of anything, end of story. How can someone practice their religion if they only believe that they are right yet don't hold absolute knowledge?

The reason why I'm asking this is because I am skeptical of everything; believing does not come easy for me, and I suffer because of it.

Self honesty, and sincere adherence, are the only signs you'll find within yourself. If you do not practice you'll never know. Everything else must correlate with the consequences of your practice to confirm it, or else its self denial of reality. This is the practice of scientific investigation, and is in conformity with religious precepts.

"...Even as He hath revealed: "We will surely show them Our signs in the world and within themselves." Again He saith: "And also in your own selves: will ye not, then, behold the signs of God?" And yet again He revealeth: "And be ye not like those who forget God, and whom He hath therefore caused to forget their own selves." In this connection, He Who is the eternal King -- may the souls of all that dwell within the mystic Tabernacle be a sacrifice unto Him -- hath spoken: "He hath known God who hath known himself.""

God bless.

Wait. Your question is wrong and maybe your thinking too.

NEVER have faith in religion. Religion will kill you. Religion is man's creation.

Everyone has some kind of faith in someone or something. Some in God, or Jesus, or Buddha, or money or good looks or the president or crystals.

I have a deep faith in God through much study and prayer. It is by faith that I KNOW that I am on the right path. There are some questions that aren't answered; but again, by faith, I know I am on the right path.

No matter what your faith, there will always be others to question you or ridicule you. It's their faith that's shaky. Their contemptuous facade hide their insecurity in their own beliefs.

No one but God has absolute knowledge. Many people who live only for knowledge never have peace. I've found that you can look for knowledge, but without faith it is nearly impossible to reconcile contradictory information. Contrary to popular belief, It is possible to be an intelligent free thinking individual and still submit to a higher authority without losing your own identity.

Through faith in someone higher than yourself you can find the peace you are looking for. You can be free from suffering. However, religion is not the answer.

Truth comes with logic and rationality where as a faith denies both. So,it's quite possible that when you search for the truth of your religion, you may loose faith in it.If you are a real skeptical then I don't think you can ever have a faith in any religion. That's the irony of the situation and one has to choose either.

Hi Ben, It's a very, very personal thing and everyone is different. If I said, "I have felt the Holy Spirit", some people will say, nut case, some will say, Praise the Lord me too! Faith is a learning process and it takes work, research and an open mind. I consider myself a civilized, scientized Bible reading believer. Trust me I have seen it all. Pentecostal, Catholic, American Indian Spiritual Beliefs. Faith will bring you comfort. You'll know it when 'your' truth hits you. Keep searching.

I am also a very skeptical person by nature. But I think that sometimes you just can know.
Im certainly not pushing my beliefs on anyone, but for me when i finally understood Christianity I just knew it was right, I felt it. I was raised in the church but never believed, It took 14 YEARS for me to finally come to my desicion.
But, that is simply my opinion. Im sure others feel differently, or feel the same about their own religion. But as for me, yes I know.

That s really sad cos believing is having an open heart and if you have what s called a "lock" on yours then you might be in trouble..the biggest prove is in you my friend ..the fact that you are given life every single day to continue living is a big one..the one who created you GIVES it back to you after you wake up.there is a GOD out there and if you cant feel that as i said that is seriously sad ..if i were you i would ask my creator to open my heart and to guide me to the right religion keep seeking and actually you asking this Q is kind of a beginning i wish you the best of luck in finding your way..

google ...the true religion and keep looking and good luck

I believe as a Christian, that claiming to know absolute Truth means that someone is claiming to be God, which is a false use of religion. A true believer is one who doesn't claim to have a complete understanding of God, but seeks the wisdom to come to a closer understanding of the nature of ultimate truth
I believe that if we even come to know a sliver of Truth from what we seek in our lives by constantly challenging ourselves, we are living our lives to the best means possible.

Nobody can say that they are sure. The people who made religions knew that. that's why they threw in the bible not to question your faith. They want to take away your freedom to think for yourself. You're on the right track.

Of course it's not possible to know. Not only that, but there is ZERO evidence for any and all theistic claims, so all of those religions rest on the same non-existent foundation. None of them deserve to be taken seriously--any of the 'good stuff' in any of them can be found in a secular religion like humanism, sans the bogus fairy tales.
