I was sitting down in a fancy restaurant with my fiance. We had been waiting 30 minutes for a table. This elderly couple was seated next to us with their adorable 5 year-old Grandson. The hostess called our party, but then the older lady said "Could you please let us take the table? I havent eaten and Im feeling very famished." My fiance looked like it was okay, But I wasnt having it. It was busy, we had waited so long, so I said politley "No, sorry." The Older man pleaded that we give up our place, and even the hostess seemed anxious I oblige. I looked at the older lady and said "Look, if youre so damn hungry, go eat at Subway!" The old lady looked in horror at me, and then fell over. The old man cried out 'Noooo!' And bent down, crying. She was dead. The little boy looked at me and said 'you killed her!' Everyone stared at us. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. What's worse, we didn't get a chance to eat because the hostess wouldnt seat us. I waited 30 minutes for nothing!

if that's all you said, you're fine.

I've waited a long time for things in the past and been extremely patieint. You didn't have to let them in before you - so don't feel bad about that

BUT why say "Look, if you're so damn hungry, go eat at Subway!" A simple "no sorry, I've been waiting a long time too" woudl have been sufficient. Your response was not necessary

In the end what you are really peeved about is how long you waited and that it was for nothing which alerts me to the fact that not only are you rude, but you are totally self centered.

In fact you might have made the whole thing up - making you bored as well.

No, you did not kill her. Maybe she had a bad heart. However, please don't get upset for being honest with you. After all, you posted this question in wanting opinions from others. You did nothing wrong with not giving up your table, but rather than telling her, "Look, if you're so damn hungry....", you could have worded it better. Did she really pass away?!?! Did the ambulance come? It just seems a little unreal. With that all said, I'm so sorry to hear this.

You really should get a job writing "true life confessions" for a magazine. Three hours ago you were scared of going to jail for the murder of someone who thought you were a lesbian. Then, you were going to be evicted, and so on it goes.

Your stories are entertaining but they are clearly fictitious and Yahoo!7Answers is about asking legitimate questions and receiving thoughtfu, educated and often well-researched replies from people who care to answer.

This is not the place for your stories, but you do have a talent which you should pursue.

ever heard of respect for the elderly if you are winging about waiting for 30 Min's why didn't you go to subway yourself , when your youth leaves you i hope you run across someone as miserable as yourself , why didn't you get to eat ? maybe karma has the answer. try to be nice to fellow humans so when you are old and tired and need some help ,someone might want to be nice to you . the hostess could see right through YOU

I would have just said, "If your not going to seat us, then I am going to Subway." The resturant should be thankful, because if she were sitting there eating, everyone would have thought it was the food that killed her. I wouldn't worry about it, she was old and, when it's you time to go, it;s your time. Do you have any problem getting into that resturant now?

You could have been more tactful (and not said that about leaving and going to Subway) but I wouldn't give up my table. Just because they have a child or they are older, doesn't mean they don't have to wait their turn. It's ridiculous, but I'm sure you'll get lots of mean answers. BS like "It never hurts to be nice". Well, it never hurts to be patient either!

Sounds like something you made up. However, if its true, it sounds like you are one selfish person. If thats your attitude, your fiance should dump you. you are so worried about waiting 30 minutes for a table then the hostess woulnd't seat you. How rude and inconsiderate.

You lie. Like the question about the boy dying that you posted an hour ago?

The old lady knew the rules...first come, first serve. I would never ask someone to give up their spot.

Obviously, you should go into drama and write a play! Either that, or go to confession.
