I don't know my blood type but I know my mom's. So is it safe for me to assume that we have the same type?

NO.
Explanation:
DAD-----MOM----------POSSIBLE CHILDREN
"O"------ -"O"------------------ALL type "O"
"O"----"A" or "B"------50% "O", 50% "A" or "B"
"A"--------"B"-----------25% each "O"; "A"; "B"; "AB"

It is not true that first born daughters always have same type as their mom. Take the 3rd case of probability. If an "A" father married a "B" mother, they can have all blood groups in the family (i.e., A, B, AB, O).

No... if to illustrate, one among your mom and father is AB and one is AO, your sister ought to nonetheless be A (AA or AO), yet you ought to be something different than O. often, in case you provide blood (like at achronic), they'll deliver you a card showing you your good blood-variety.
