would you say at least part of your faith is based on the fact that you want to believe that you're going to live forever, and that if you do, you want everlasting pleasure? basically, it breaks down to this question. are you afraid that death really is the end, and perhaps that's why you want to believe?
judging by the responses to my last question, that's more or less the feeling i got.

I don't want some sort of everlasting pleasure but the idea that when I die it won't be the end of me is somewhat comforting, of course.

Yes,I have everlasting life and that gives me great hope. As for pleasure-the greatest pleasure in heaven will be being with Jesus, face to face as well as being with those I love forever. I'm not afraid death is the end because it is not.I believe because I know that God is very real, heaven is very real, so is hell. I believe in Jesus because I don't want to go to hell.

God has proved us the He conquered the death.

Our faith is based on the fact that God keeps His promises and everything He says about the eternal life is wonderful. We do not wait to get to heaven to have this wonderful relationship with God, we already start it here. You can have it too. You do not need a "God gene"

I feel its very much natural to seek an eternal life for a human being. If a person does not seek eternal life, his nature is corrupt. Also, the very fact that our instinct demand for eternal life proves that eternal life exists. how would our instnct have sought eternal life if nothing such existed? The reason we feel thirsty is because water exists. If water did not have existed our instinct never had demanded in in first place.

No, my faith is based on the fact that God manifested Himself unto me, after I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior.

I know something happens. Simply based on paranormal research, it's not the end when we die.

And I'm a believer in my own beliefs, not someone else's.
