Any suggestion will do; Just anything that is simple and effective. I need to get some sort of relief from this excruciating pain. Tell me what kind of medicine if you're suggesting I take that.

I can't eat. I can't drink. I can't move my mouth freely.

Orajel has a new product out that might work for you. They're small tablets that, when pressed onto the inflamed area, turn to a protective gel covering. While there, they numb the area and protect from further damage, allowing the area to have a chance to heal. I had a really bad sore in my mouth not too long ago and these did the trick.

The only downside is the initial pain when you press the tablet on (it's specified on the package also), but it's well worth it.

Try putting a nice warm damp teabag on it- the tannic acid helps it heal and soothes it some. For eating purposes, the teething gels will help numb it long enough to eat. You can also try tea tree oil on the spot, which has some antiseptic properties. And you can always visit the doctor for prescription strength gels the help. There are lots of over the counter things that are designed to help with cold sores, and everyone has a personal favorite. You just have to try them to find which works best for you. Just be sure to keep your hands off it, and don't touch the spot and then other skin- you can infect a new spot that way.

Once they erupt, you have to wait it out. Salt and water helps and the doctor can prescribe a cream with zinc that helps speed healing process if caught at the very beginning.

It sounds like you need to have swab of the area (to clarify what it is and to guide in antibiotic therapy ). Therefore , You will need to see your GP. Perhaps you could try a lignocaine base treatment proterm.......... All the best Alison
