Has anyone else ever had a cigarette without getting a buzz at all from it? I have and it's been annoying me. It's just a normal cigarette, nothing rolled or fancy. And yet sometimes I'll get a buzz and other times, nothing.
Does anyone know why that is?

I guess I'll add that I'm not a regular smoker, and when I was, I only had 1-3 cigs per day, maybe double that if I was drinking.
As for the buzz, I'm taking about when I have no other chemicals in my body, no alcohol, drugs, nothing.

I also only smoked on and off (ie not every day) for 8 months. And I didn't have any problem quitting. I guess I wasn't as addicted as many people get.
Also, I haven't had a cigarette for several months, but this was one of the reasons I stopped smoking, that and I lived at home and couldn't do it around my family, so it made sense to stop.

Uh, Your system builds up immunity, and then it's too late to resist. Your hooked to something you don't like.

I'm a smoker.....(trying to quit so don't need a lecture).
A. Don't smoke....it's a b*tch to stop
B. The reason you don't get a "buzz" is because your body is getting used to the nicotine....ie.....you are getting addicted.
C. You still get a buzz sometimes if you don't smoke for a couple of days....then light up. Your body hasn't had nicotine in a couple of days and isn't used to it. Then you smoke one....it's a bit of a "shock" to your system.
The fact is....that little buzz you get from having a smoke once in a while is not worth getting addicted over. You will spend way too much $$ on it. After a while (as you see now) there is no buzz...just a smelly breath, smelly clothes, and a nasty addiction!

It definitely depends on the person bigtime. I smoked about 1 to 2 a day for about a year and never got too addicted. I stopped with no withdrawal symptoms whatsoever. But most people can't do that. If you really tried I'd say the average person could smoke once a week and not get addicted. It just usually doesn't work that way though.

You get a buzz if it's been a long time between cigarettes but, if you smoke frequently, you won't get it. Your body will adjust to the lack of oxygen and there will be no buzz.

If you don't smoke often it may be because of that.
Take it from an ex-smoker... the buzz isn't worth it. Go outside and take a run, the endorphin rush from that is much better than the unreliable buzz of a nasty smoke.

maybe you don't inhale it as much? May also depend on the kind of cigarette. As you smoke more, it may take more to get that buzz.

could have something to do with how much nicotine / other substances you had in your system at the time. if your body isn't used to the chemicals you will get buzzed easier,. smokers usually don't get buzzed cuz their bodies build up a tolerance to the nicotine.

Yes, if you are not a smoker, you will get a buzz because your brain is not use to the smoke!

When you do it's because the nicotine level in your body is low. When your nicotine level is high it would harder to get the "buzz".
Nicotine is a two edge drug. It will mellow you out but it also does the opposite at the same time.

Smoking constricts blood vessels and restricts the flow of blood to the brain. That is why you feel light-headed. Smoke more regularly and that feeling will go away for the most part.
