There isn't a way in my opinion to empirically prove the existence of God, but I can provide philosophical arguments and anecdotal evidence to support the existence of "God."

First off, the very fact you have an awareness of self, of identity, speaks for a lot. The fact you have a sensual ability with the world around you and have an awareness of time and space is quite remarkable. I do not think scientists have yet pinned down and evolutionary mechanism for the awareness of self or what we deem consciousness.

There have also been numerous "scientific" (yes I said scientific) studies which proport a number of out of body experiences, near death experiences, parapsychological phenomena which does in fact suggest strongly, maybe not so much in a "God" but in an afterlife (which is suggestive of perhaps, an "experiential God of time and space.") Many of the people who have experienced these events were able, for instance, to describe an operating table where they were being worked on, etc...there has been one report of a woman who was born blind at birth who was fully unconscious and actually "saw" color and objects, and while, with some hesitation, was able to describe what she observed. Other studies suggests the presence of psychic phenomena (although I confess, most parapsychological phenomena is not really rooted in science and a good lot of the practitioners are seemingly charlatans or irrational new agers). This would suggest the concept or idea of a timeline, where all events have taken place, are taking place, and will take place spare for the individual's will at the moment to not disrupt the timeline's events through their own will. This suggests that for a God to exist, it must not exist in time and quite possibly space. This would seem to be the only rational explanation for a God who can "create." In essense, the fact that "stuff" is here and the fact that time may possibly be relative where the ideas of beginning and end are relative and time and infinity are really intertwined; could, in fact make up for a possible explanation for the existence of a God. While God may seem like a hard concept for any rational person, I have always said, if there is no God, you might as well shoot yourself, for what good is a few measly years compared to an eternity of non existence? Of course, no sane person would do this, but I am sure you get my point. I think it is very hard for us today to believe in a God because we see so many problems around us. Wars, pain, physical and mental abnormalities, we ask ourselves, how could this be the workings of a God...perhaps, that is for us to answer. Perhaps, we are indeed, different expressions of an experiencing God, a God which was, is and ever shall be in trying to comprehend itself through different expression of identity?

I will also say this much: I am not religious, I am actually quite scientific-minded and logical and can testify to having many strange occurances in my life that I cannot rationalize to be anything known of a psychiatric/neurological phenomena. I cannot describe these in "human language" but I know what it felt like and I can say, if this was what we might call "the God gene acting funny," it's a pretty Goddamn interesting gene...pun intended :)

Needless to say, many people have had numerous experiences which have been investigated and validated. Just because most of the world seems to be irrational does not mean we can be arrogant and look to them and their beliefs as a source of irrational fanatisicism and associate it with the idea that God is dead.

There is an old quote:

Nietzsche says God is dead
God says Nietzsche is dead

Last God standing wins... :)

Just my two cents.

Do you beleive that there is an author or creator of every existing matter on earth? If so, There is a God of this Universe. A person who is saved know that God is real because God speaks him or her everyday; and no it is not vocals. It is through reading his word, prayer and foremost through salvation. There are many times I am confused with a question, the next time I read the bible, I go directly to the parable that can be an application in my life. Or the next Sunday the pastor speaks the same problem that I was dealing with. Not only that is proof, miracles that happen to you. This may sound confusing or nonsense to an unbeliever, but trust me pray right now to God to direct you to a person or church right now and ask for salvation. I promise you see a difference once you experience the joy of the Holy Spirit.

God cannot be proved. But by the same token, evolution cannot be proven by the scientific method, regardless of what some scientists say. I can't prove God to you. No one can. But if you don't believe in the invisible, stand still for a while after you've been bit by mosquitoes. They're gone, and you can't see the itches, but that doesn't mean it's not there. That's a bad comparison. I'm bad at this. Sorry.

I heard of an atheist in college that wrote his final paper on proving that God was not real.

He was very determined to prove that God did not exist and find all the facts that support both sides of the argument. Just like any good paper or argument would consist of.

So, after collecting all the evidence he could...

He ended up converting to Christianity at the end of his paper because he could not prove the absence of God.

I hope that helps!

Well for me the reality of God or a divine power is under our noses. God is a very big "thing" not held captive by sex, gender, time or any other thing within a human mind. It makes no difference if you believe it or not. For instance, I have three 20 dollar bills in my wallet and it makes no difference if you believe its their or not. The order in the universe and the world around me seal my opinion. Perhaps if I awoke floating in some void with no meaning and everything was in disarray and confusion I could say that there is no God. However, one breath after the other, a spirit seated in a soul living in a body is a very good proof of a Divine Architect in my book... The rest can be debated...

God could but He's got more important things to do, like keeping the universe going.
Thomas Aquinas gave several proofs, but it takes faith to accept them.
It would be harder to prove that God doesn't exist. So, it takes a lot of faith to be either a theist or an atheist. Agnostic is much easier.

I do have to say if your searching for facts that you can see with your eyes, yes i can prove it. your not the first person to ever question the existence of our maker. It even goes beyond what you can see with the naked human eyes. just ask yourself how you listen to music w/o seeing the radio waves. If you truley would like to discuss this topic feel free to contact me, for this topic can not be sold short as just an answer.

It is not possible to prove that god either exists or doesn't. So concluded noted Catholic theologian in his huge book on the subject [ref. 1]; I agree. If the evidence is not conclusive, is it at least persuasive? It is, and makes an excellent case that no such thing exists [ref. 2].

No, and you can not prove that god is not real. But alas, do not loose hope, you can prove that people's definitions of god are false.
