My mom says I will either get iron poisoning or alcohol poisoning (lol)...I only have wine with dinner, and it's never more than three to four glasses. Yes, it's always red because I love red wine, and it's a passion to me. Not an addiction, because even if I skip a few days, I don't crave it, or binge the next time I see it. But, I thoroughly enjoy it when I do have some.

What ill health effects can you have from 3-4 glasses of red wine say...3-5 days out of a week?? I feel great and I have a lot of energy, stamina, and I hardly ever get sick. My last cold was in 2003, and all my physicals have been excellent. I am scared to tell my doctor I drink wine though. Maybe he will think I am alcoholic?

I often wonder as well because I love to drink white wine 2-3 glasses over 4 days per week. I have no side effects either and don't crave it. I wonder if it does put weight on but I don't consider it a problem as I try to have a balanced diet. I say go for it!

Red wine does have many health advantages... so your choice is a good one. Do be careful the 3 - 4 a day habit doesn't turn into an every day affair. I love red wine and often will have a large glass of ice water to slow down my intake with dinner. I usually enjoy 2 glasses 3 - 4 days a week. Be honest with your doctor. Their job is to care for your health .... not judge your decisions. It is important they know all of your personal history to give you the best advice!

Generally accepted medical wisdom is that red wine in moderation is good for the body. Something about anit-oxidants and helping combat plaque build-up in the arteries.

However, medically speaking, 3-4 glasses of wine daily is not considered moderation. A single 5-ounce glass or perhaps two are what the medicos have in mind. They say that drinking more alcohol than one or two servings per day causes the ill-effects of alcohol to counter-balance the good effects of moderate consumption.

So do yourself a favor and make Mama happy by reducing your intake to one or two glasses.

Red wine is actually very good for circulation. There was a campaign in the UK not long ago, encouraging people to drink a glass of red wine and eat some dark chocolate everyday.
I personally don't like red wine, so I drink beer with dinner, I usually have 3+ beers of an evening and there's nothing wrong with me! Beer doesn't have any benefits for your circulatory system either! Don't worry about what your doctor will say. Loads of people enjoy wine with meals, it's nothing to be ashamed of.

One is good for you. Drinking that heavily that often isn't. You can end up with liver damage or other physical problems.
Four ounces of wine is a serving.
Like eating ice cream might be fun eating several dishes a day wouldn't be a good thing.
